Why not loan him to Canvey they are doing well in the Ryman at the moment and Tilson was the only manager Eastwood has ever done well for so worth giving him a go there.

That has already been talked about at canvey and I know Freddy wants to play for Steve. Tilly will get him back on track.

Personally I don't rate Eastwood. He is a shadow of his former self and I would let him go, along with Harris, Benyon and Straker. Make room for some loan players for the season run in because the league is more important than the JPT (as much as I would welcome a trip to north west London).

But is it a case of PS doesnt think he is good enough, so not playing him, or its just he is not fit enough to play pro football,or he has a long term injury thats not clearing up, or both. We had two strikers a while back on very decent form, there was a reason FE was getting no were near 1st team football, but Tomlin is out pretty long term, Britt just back from injury, and not yet at his best, but Fred it seems is still miles away to 1st team recall. PS is very far from being an idiot, he must be seeing in Eastwood a player who cannot at the moment improve the 1st team.

Apparently after reading the write up on the Waltham Abbey game, there is absolutely no way either Fredd or ,Benyon could improve Southend. Seems the only one with any chance of doing that in the future is Jack Payne.Also some decent things said about a couple of other young kids from the Youth team. Heres hoping they all come on and end up giving Southend many years good service.

Even if his form did deserve a place in the side instead of Britt or Barry etc, how can he be given a run in the side that some ask for. He couldn't get through 30 minutes against Waltham Abbey. Sadly it is not 'match' but his general fitness that seems to be the problem.

Unfortunately the fond memories of his initial spell here are now being diluted. It might well have been a good idea at the time but has simply not worked out.

Problem is he would still train with us as Canvey arent full time are they ? Therefore he would only get match time, which by all accounts he isnt fit enough to play.

Added to that they wont pay his salary Im not sure how that would benefit us anyway.

Eastwood has already said he is fit to play. I understand when he played the other day he went off with an ice pack strapped to his leg, so that doesnt ring true. So what is bottem line here, is he long term injured, because of this he cant train,is he just a lazy sod, and cant be bothered,what is the problem here.
