Dubai v 9/11

Not oil. The US imports more oil from Canada than any OPEC country so the record can be changed on that old chestnut that it's about oil.

Unlikely. Remember when OPEC stopped supplying the US in the mid 70s (I don't, but I've seen the photos)....petrol shortage in the US, huge queues at the pumps. They may get the majority from Canada but certainly not enough to supply their insatiable demands.

37% is only a majority when referring to a UK Election :winking:

So all conflict and intervention in the Middle East involving the US and UK is related to oil. Right ho, might as well close the thread.

Very very true MK,

If Iraq had little or zero oil then the USA would not have gone near them ,funny how in other parts of the world the west have no interest in invading.

Well they may be historical conflict between Christians, Jews, Sunni & Shia Muslims for sure, but add the greed for oil and that's one heady mix.

Ask yourself why regimes in North Korea and Africa haven't faced western "regime change".

very interesting thread guys- lot of stuff on here I was not aware off/ had forgotten , and I have only scratched the surface . You could spend an entire lifetime on this subject going down blind alleys. What I think most would agree , is that when you do not have a detailed through investigation by people who are committed , correctly resourced, independant and not afraid to ask difficult questions, and who are allowed to report in full then you are always going to have people feeling that they have been lied to. There are many things that do not add up , some of them might be genunie mistakes that look worse than they really are--- but until we have the full story we will never know.

That one's quite easy. Look up the Office of Special Plans (OSP) and the term 'Stovepiping' I cant post links you might be able to help.

Then look up Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, Robert Zoelick and Douglas Feith.

Ok, I can see that America would push for war because yes, it's profitable - but there has to be something in it for the US in general. That would be cheap oil.

Maybe they should have focused on North Korea - but of course they won't with the threat of China on the border.

Well done MK now were getting closer to the truth and from the Guardian no less. Not some barmy, mad as box of frogs zoner. Very soon we will be able to address the elephant in the 9/11 room ...Israel.

Paul Wolfowitz, who has joint Israeli citizenship has long been a campaigner for war against Iraq even appearing on chat shows to promote his views. He was one of the members of PNAC, including Rumsfeld, who lobbied Bill Clinton in 1998 and wrote articles about the need for a 'New Pearle Harbour'. Bush and Cheney have both publicly stated that it was Wolfowitz who came up with the idea of invading Iraq just 2 days after 9/11 at a meeting at Camp David

When Bush became President in 2000 unbelievably Wolfowitz was going to be appointed head of the CIA. It was only blocked when his Wife grassed him up for having an affair with a Tunisian woman who he was working with whilst Head of the World Bank. Which of course breaks banking codes of practice. So he had to settle for the job of deputy to Dick Cheney.

The Guardian also mentions Douglas Feith who was booted out of the Regan Administration because he was suspected of selling secrets to the Israelis. Had it been another country he may have ended up with life in prison, but as it was only Israel he was allowed back into the Bush administration.

Now for your next task look up the 'Dancing Israelis'

Hani Hanjour

He couldn't fly a little Cessna
He somehow entered the cockpit without opening the closed door(according to the black box found at the Pentagon)
He overpowered an ex army giant and the co pilot
He had zero instrument training yet flew for hundreds of miles without assistance from ATC
He completed breathtaking manoeuvres which highly experienced guys tried and failed
He flew that large airliner just feet above the ground at max thrust
He collided with several obstacles but still maintained course
He even managed to alter direction so instead of hitting top bods in the Pentagon he flew into the only reinforced section
He managed to leave zero evidence of the enoumous jet wake
He managed to overcome the aircraft's limits
He managed to avoid the 83 Pentagon CCTV cameras

Unbelievable Jeff !
