Demise of the NoTW

Good Sports Coverage but in the light of this latest news Good Riddance!

However, i wouldnt mind betting The Sun turns to be a 7 day a week paper pretty soon.

RIP 'News of the Screws'.......RIP Robert Murdoch, aaaaaaaaaaahhh, he's not gone quite yet! The snake trying squirm his way back into some kind of popularity by offering the revenue from the last edition to good causes.

Have enjoyed their footie coverage and the odd bit of salaciousness over the years but they've definitely gone too far in recent times and despite the fact that there will almost inevitably be a Sunday Sun of some kind, I'm glad they're paying a kind of ultimate price. It's about time.

Now the precedent has been set, if someone can implicate the Sun in it, does that mean that would have to be closed down as well?

Would make buying the rest of BSkyB easier as well.....

Buy it now and again purely for football, but as a lot of football gets played Sunday even that was diminishing.

Can't say that I'm that fussed, on the odd occasion when I've read it I thought their sports coverage like the Sun was poor. Papers like the Times & Telegraph are vastly superior in terms of writing and writers who actually cover cricket properly, and not squeeze coverage to a paragraph when there isn't a test match or Ashes series on.

People now have a conundrum on Sunday, boycott the paper or buy the last one and keep as a souvenir.

Well ofcom do have the power to remove him from being an owner of a British paper which would be hilarious . Vince Cables propably having a good chuckle ;)

I haven't read it for years, but do feel sorry about anyone losing their job over it. I feel perhaps the News of has been sacrificed to keep Rebekah Brooks in a job, when it should have been the other way round.

There's been a lot written on Twitter that I've seen about how some at NI have wanted The Sun to takeover NOTW slot... websites for SunOnSunday were bought days ago and actually it maybe what Murdoch wanted anyway!

Was an opportunity indeed , however as many have said in teh industry a rebrand couldnt happen that quick and the sunon sunday cant be just like teh weekday or just wont work . Also they don't know if The Sun will be boigoted or the affect on sky yet ;)

I'd definitely goose that ginger chick, she looks like the kind of woman that would violently gob at me if I didn't satisfy her every sadomasochistic need. In fact I'd fail on purpose just to get her going. Abominable bitch.

Wasn't she linked with Ross Kemp at some time or other, partners or married to or something? Does anyone honestly think though that the NOTW was the ONLY paper that's been doing this? I'm convinced this is just the tip of the iceberg and the fallout will be felt for some time. I'd be quite pleased for Murdoch himself to be brought to his knees, although I feel really sorry for the many genuine people that will now have concerns about their jobs.

she gave ross kemp a good hiding, allegedly because she caught him in bed with another man,

maybe the notw should have a superinjunction special!!

Definitely not, people seem to have forgottem the "Squidygate" calls of Princess Diana or the calls between Prince Jug Ears & Camilla when he apparently wanted to be a tampon. How were these calls monitored? But at the time people thought they were a good life and not an invasion of privacy.
