decent restuarant in SOS

Can anybody suggest a decent veggie restaurants or a restaurant that has a reasonable veggie choice & does more than veggie lasagne? Ta in advance.
The only dedicated vegetarian restaurant in Southend I've ever known was My Kitchen (formerly Pulse) on Leigh Road, but it closed down late last year sadly.

if your budget is unlimited I'd say the Sand Bar in Leigh Broadway. Other good ones in Leigh are Jasmine Garden in the Broadway or Simply Seafood in Old leigh, always find the Boatyard over-rated myself.

I went to Simply Seafood and it was awful.

Thanks for all the recommendations, (and birthday wishes Kay!).
We ended up heading to Il Pescatore. Food was lovely and plentiful, just how I remembered!
Only slight downer was the bill for 4 was a little higher than we expected due to the £18 bottle of 'house' rose - lesson learnt, check the wine list!

Had a lovely lunch at The Hundreds, down on Eastern Esplanade, earlier this week. Great selection of fish dishes, we went for their 'tapas' selections, including whitebait, fried squid and crayfish tails on toast. Four of us ate very well for a little over £60 with service.

Blimey James the twins are doing well. :stunned: All I got at 6 months was a jar of that mushy carrot ****.

 the four being me, my mum, wife and sister. Johnny and Beth just lay there looking cute. They're good at that when they're out of the house, the little show-offs.

:smiles: It's great you can now start getting them out and about.

You wouldn't believe how many people ask - "are they twins?". You just nod and smile and say yes, whilst thinking "Hmm, what do you reckon - two babies exactly the same size? No, he's actually a year older than her, you berk".

:off topic: sorry all

Bacchus in Alexendra Street is rather good too.

Went to Toulose on the seafront, had dressed crab, which was full of crab shell, and a over cooked steak, rare, coming up more like well done. Wrote a letter of complaint as no one seemed to care on the evening when we complained and got no reponse. For the price they charge i wont be return and would advise others to do the same

Perhaps the crab was dressed in a shell suit?
