'Cos that's more interesting?
No, it's not. It's the same people regurgitating the same nonsense.
Face facts, the death penalty will never be re-introduced in the UK. It's ridiculous to suggest otherwise.

Not fair MK. It says in The Sun today that Rangers were knocked out of Europe last night; that is certainly true.
Very good, but total rubbish. Who are you standing for, Criminals are us?
You could tap into any number of budgets to find additional funds for the NHS, not least of all that being spent on a nuclear arsenal specifically designed to bring about death and destruction. You could put 1% on income tax, but the sad fact is that the average family would never stomach the idea of giving up their second cars to save (or at least prolong) lives.

Exactly, I certainly don't want to contribute to locking up serious offenders (if money was being spent to irradicate the cause then thats another matter). So if murder is wrong, but 'restraint (ie imprisonment) is ok, if we dont want to have to fund the upkeep of these child killers etc, would it not be ok to just keep them locked up with nothing and let nature take its course...or what that be too cruel....? :)
But executing an innocent person while the guilty walks free is not any form of justice is it?
Slightly off topic, but you got to think about, when people get banged up for life, does it really mean life for murder, or does it mean out in half of the 33 odd years for good behaviour?!
One American court banged up one bloke for murder for 2000 years, a few years ago with no probation period. Maybe we could have something like that over here. At least it will prevent the *******s getting out and doing it again.
At what cost to the tax payer....???
Ah human life of any form is worth more then the economy i see, well we could ensure the prision service is no profit making amybe ?
What if he escapes and does it again....??
No they wouldnt, look at it more like "if you kill someone, we will kill you"

But the do-gooders would fight their case. .
what's the opposite of a do-gooder? a do-bader? I'm curious as to why fighting the corner of humanism is a bad thing.

So you are perfectly happy for the people who rule you to live by another set of rules to you? Do as i say not as i do.
No but it will unavoidable on osme occassions, and of course extremely unfortunate for the person that gets it.
When I did this with my Y10s they were REALLY against it, pleasantly suprising. After research their main arguements against it were:
- not many white middle class get death penalty - they can generally afford good lawers and *only* get life - it targets poor black people (in US certainly)
- it doesnt reduce the murder rate
- it creates further grief by destroying another family - big campaign about this in US - good video on youtube
- you might get it wrong
- if you take their life you are just as bad
- we have no human right to do it
- could be downward spiral with eventually petty criminals executed (I said this was a little far fetched but they argued well for it!)
More "rubbish" than you drawing comparisons with speeding offences?
I like those kids the futures save now :D
