Deadpool 2024

Not a celebrity, but 15 year old Aiden Waller from Benfleet, lost his 3 year cancer battle this week. He was a fan of SUFC, and due to be the Trust's guest with his family, next Saturday.

He'd been lucky enough to be taken down to Wrexham by Ryan Reynolds earlier in his battle.

His family are still attending the match, and we are anticipating some kind of tribute to him.

Didn't he support Wrexham?

Jamie Muir, former King Crimson percussionist aged 82.

Muir was only in the band for a few months. He was brought in by Fripp to help develop their sound for the Larks Tongue In Aspic album and the two that followed. Although he had left KC after the recording of Aspic, Starless And Bible Black and Red probably would not have happen had he not of been in King Crimson. He also inadvertently came up with the name of the album!

Bill Bruford often cites him as the biggest influence on his drumming and how he approached his playing, high praise indeed.

Muir left KC suddenly and without warning to join a monastery in Scotland. He returned to London in the 80s to resume his musical career before becoming a painter.

It is well worth checking out the track Larks Tongue In Aspic Part 1 for an example of his influence on the King Crimson sound at that time.

Joe Haines, a member of Harold Wilson's so called Kitchen Cabinet has died aged 97.

He was my favourite presenter of What The Papers Say. He was very funny and very droll.
I reeived a phone call from him (without knowing it was JH on the othe end)staying in a sleeping bag in Bruce George's house ,the night after he'd won the 1974 election at his home. The call was olaced on behalf of HW.
