Think the semi finalists are all but decided now, England India Australia and New Zealand look to be the four but New Zealand haven't been tested yet, will be interesting to see how they do against the top sides. I'm sure Bangladesh will be hoping one of the top 4 drop the ball, for me they are the only side that could gatecrash the semis now.

Bangladesh pushed them close

They did, what I should of said is they haven't played anyone considers contenders pre tournament. They got lucky getting rained off against India IMO. They now have a run of tough games. They have beaten Sri lanka and Afghanistan, who you would expect pretty much everyone to beat and Bangladesh, who are good but you'd rather play them than, England, India, Australia (I'd have also put Pakistan, WI and SA on that list pre tournament).

I'd be surprised if the current top 4 don't finish top 4, I want Bangladesh to sneak in though as I had a bet on them making the semis pre tournament

true,but this is the world cup,pressure...we always underperform when the going gets tuff...hope you are right this time,but sadly,like the England football teams, im not very sure...even to reach the s/f...but i pray im wrong......not for the first time!!!!

I look at this team and I don't see many chokers and even if one or two do choke we have an abundance of talent there. Of course there are always freak results the best of teams get skittled on occasion but if I was forced to put my life on any team winning this tournament I would choose England.

Every team has a match winner who can turn any game against anyone by hitting a fifty ball hundred out of nowhere. We have four or five players who can do this. Yes we can be beaten when put under pressure of a run chase, anyone can, but no team has our depth of quality.

Love this. We have the bowlers - the ‘worker ants’ as they call themselves - to build us a great platform. Then if any of our batsmen have a bad innings, chances are at least a couple of the others can see us through - and in no small amount of style. Roy, Bairstow, Root, Morgan, Buttler, Stokes, Moeen - this batting line up is SO exciting to watch.*

Annoyingly, I had a client phone call this week during the Afghanistan game. Customers, eh!? Seemed like I only stepped away for 20 minutes and Morgan was still nursing his back in the changing room. When I hung-up he was batting and already on 80. Genuine WTF moment of disbelief.

So it seems a lot of you think other teams dont have depth and talent to burn,reading some of these threads they may as well stop the tournament now and pronounce England champions,for me when it comes to guts and the will to win when the chips are down i will go with the AUSSIES.

Not what I think at all, but if all teams perform to their best then I'd say England are the no1 team. Aussies would be number 3 for me behind England and India

Stewart,sadly i agree,if you look at our and the Aussies past there is likely only one winner.BUT things always change(i hope).
Yes this is a good team,but so far the only team Pakistan have beaten or it was ,was England.Pakistan may have been our hardest/best team we have played so far...maybe.
Next tuesday v the Aussies could give a good idea where we both stand.
The winners always need a bit of luck...or no bad luck.
If our players keep fit???

If England see off Starc and Cummins on Tuesday, they will score plenty in the other 30 overs. Australia are nowhere near the standard of India and England.

I agree with this in theory, they still scare me though. They will make the semi's then they will Rely on those 5 world class players, if they fire they could well be world champions. India and England have more in their locker though.
