cricket world cup 2015

Anyone else get up early today to find the match already finished? What a shambles.

The format makes England still very likely to qualify for the quarter-finals. I assume in that case we'd face South Africa. I still can see us making the semis, incredibly.

Umm, I wouldn't be too surprised if we fall short of that on current form. Bangladesh are no mugs and Scotland will feel like they have the chance to get one over on their arch nemesis in a sport that would really embarrass us.

Every other team seems capable of seeing the innings through to 50 overs and posting something half decent/defendable, yet we just continue to throw wickets away. There is something rotten in this England regime and until we get that rectified, we'll continue to lurch from one embarrassment to another.

How do England manage to assemble a fully fit(?) squad with months of preparation which results in literally every player being completely out of form?

It's just incredible.

Imagine the **** the press would be giving Cook if he was there and captain instead of (Not so English) Morgan.

I make Vaughan right on the situation. Morgan's the right man for the job but the change should've been made 12 months ago... as it is Morgan simply hasn't been given enough time to bed in and he's paying the price for the ECB's **** up.

The whole thing's one big screw-up. How we can play one team in a settled batting order for the last 6 months, and then totally change that in the 1st game of the competition is beyond stupid.

If they didn't think Taylor was good enough to bat at 3 in Australia, then why bat him there in all the lead-up games. Likewise with the bowling attack, Woakes has done a good job opening up, and then we get to Aus and it's Broad.

England are 11/4 to fail to get out of the groups if you fancy it!

Agree on the regime being absolutely rotten. No accountability amongst coaching staff and ECB. Still incredible Saker kept his job.

There's a big Southend United (Not Aberdeen) flag on display at the Christchurch game against Scotland. Good effort.

It was the highlight of the NZ game. Prime spot.

My parents live in Dunedin and chose the wrong time to return to England for an extended visit! Christchurch looks beautiful today. Love grounds which are composed of grassy banks.

Incidentally, there is a 'Southend United' who are an amateur football club who play in Invercargill (an industrial port right at the south of the south island).

Nearly as bad as you wanting to live near SUFC.

I went to say hello but they were away getting drinks, should have half-inched their flag!...

Chris Gayle smashing it. He has been on a bad run of form lately. Would be nice if one of our lot did that.

Are you from Perth? I used to live there and go see the WA Warriors as they were then (before they became Perth Scorchers) and Gayle was in the side, have always loved watching that guy.

Great game between Ireland and the UAE. A real shame that the associate nations will be cast aside for the 2019 World Cup.
