The fact that we struggle to sell our allocation at Crewe is due to the economic climate.
Many (probably most) people simply cannot afford to pay out to travel up to Cheshire with the associated costs, pay matchday prices at Roots Hall on Weds (again the associated costs) and budget for the day of their lives (fingers crossed) at Wembley..all in 15 days.
No coincidence that for the first time in memory, England cannot sell even close to the allocation for Euro 2012.
Football is such an accurate barometer of the economy. Pre-crash? 60,000 England to Germany in 2006 but would be half that this year.

Is totally unfair to criticise numbers, times are extremely difficult for many and football is a luxury.

Hopefully, our lads will put a huge smile on the faces of those fantastic fans up at Crewe as well as the fantastic fans watching wherever they can!!!

C'MON YOU SHRIMPERS!!

Not impressed!!!! Should have been a sell out. Just can't understand this TV armchair attitude if that's what behind this apathy. This is the most important game of the season how can you support the team by not turning up. We took 1200 to Oxford and 500 to Bradford in recent weeks for christs sake.

Shouldn't you have waited to see how many pay on the day before posting this?

I see there have been other similar comments earlier but just so all are aware... Bought 2 tickets for West Stand online last Wednesday and it says during booking they will be posted and even when you print out the confirmation it says 'Delivery Method Post'.

Just called ticket office to check if they had been sent out as I am around in town and can collect them today and it turns out that all tickets bought online are collection only 'as it is a cup match' ???

Luckily I live in Southend and can go in and pick them up today, but please don't sit at home hoping they will turn up in the post in time for Wednesday, cos they won't !!

Would have cost me nearly 100 quid with ticket to get there from London on my own and that's a lot for a match that's on Sky and won't deliver a conclusive result.

That's annoying to say the least. I'll go up there on monday to get mine then, is the ticket office open longer on matchdays at all?

Just a quick message to get around the customer number thing. Go to pricing, Click on "Buy your match day ticket online click here." and you skip all of that customer number rubbish. Gave up after numerous attempts to get my number but to no avail, so found way around it and has worked forever since.

Has anybody who ordered over the phone and paid for delivery received their tickets yet. I ordered Tuesday and nothing so far, I thought special delivery may have come within a day or two.

Ive brought loads of tickets online this year & the system is absolute *****. If you know what specific seats you want its a case of refresh & refresh again until they come up, it cant be hard to show what seats are actually available.

I've brought tickets 3 weeks before a game & selected post delivery, only to have to collect on the day because someone forgot to post them, more than once.

The club needs to invest in a proper online system rather than this hit n miss affair they use now.

Royal Mail Special Delivery is guaranteed next day but needs a signature. You should speak to the ticket office to get a tracking number if indeed they have sent them out.

This sounds like a hit or miss disaster. Good customers paying premium rates to watch a 2nd Division team, shouldn't have all this inconvenience to pick up tickets they wanted sent out, or worry wether they have been posted or not, or wether they will arrive at all. Staff at the ticket office telling you different things doesn't help either.

Just g to Crewe and ticket has not been sent here for collection. Apparently I am not alone, quite a few have not been delivered.

Had to buy another one and take it up with the Southend ticket office next week.

Yep, came next day, I had to sign for it.

I ordered mine Weds and still not here. Paid for special delivery too. And folk here to sign for it. Fun time on Mon I reckon chasing this up.

I had to ring up the ticket office yesterday to get a couple more north banks tickets for some friends and they said the North was nearly full, Apparently the east is sold out and not many remaining in the South. If we don't get over 9k especially with 700ish away fans then I'd be surprised. Would love to get over the 10k mark which I think might be a step to far but 9,500 is possible I thnk.

Why is this sort of thing happening every big match? It's just crazy to put loyal fans through any sort of worry. Will the tickets arrive in the post? Sorting it out if they don't. Or, queuing for collection on the night, knowing that you may miss the start if the usual problems in the ticket office happen.

Come on S.U.F.C. Time to sort this out. The fans deserve so much better.
