He was also moaning about people standing to sing and said can't people just watch the game normally.
Seems pretty reasonable to me.....so what's your point?

Does it really matter how many away games you go to, how much you sing, or whether you stand or sit during the game we are all Southend fans aren't we.

I have been supporting Southend for 20 years, does that make me a better fan than others who have supported for less?  No I don't think so.

I don't sing at matches, does that not make me a fan, no.  Just because you sing, does that mean it is hurting you more tonight than me?  No.

Lets all hail super fan SOTW.  We are not worthy.

What a p%&*k you are SOTW.

With that bloody wind blowing in our face we could have taken the Welsh voice choir and still I doubt whether we would have been heard on the pitch. You could hear players talking on the edge of the penalty box s clear as a bell but not hear someone two rows behind you. Will be different at Bounemouth.

Wasnt really trying to criticise anyones support of Southend United as we all support them as much as the next fan, but was just bemoaning the lack of atmosphere. I know the wind was really bad and it was an open stand but it was still poor, like Doncaster away, not a great deal of singing and a cack performance on the pitch!

Who are you to tell hundreds of Southend fans not to bother? What a complete load of Bollo#!!! If anyone should be told not to bother, it's you...complete waste of space!

I have to admit that I was a bit surprised by the lack of atmosphere in the away end today as usually we're far more vocal than that on away trips.

However, the suggestion that people not singing makes them "not proper fans" is laughable. I for one am not really into chanting. It's not that I have anything against it, just that I'm usually so intense and engrossed in the action when watching the Blues that I'm just not really in the right frame of mind to sing.

Fandom works in different ways: some people concentrate on creating a rowdy atmosphere, that's fine; others simply focus on the game, simple as that.

OK. Sorry about that!

The lack of atmosphere was a an issue but it wouldnt have changed the way we played. We soud have taken advantage of the wind in the first half and shouldve really been 3-0 before they scored their first. Got to say ive never felt so cold in my life! That wind just went straight through the stand, which contributed heavily to the atmosphere. Heads up though, we are still 6 clear and the games are running out

the problem is all the so called "singers" were all spread out today do to the fact you couldnt choose where u sat so it just didnt work out

I think its a fair point about the atmosphere it was crap today.I think half of it was just due to the weather and also the stadium was so open.It was a weird day all round.I have never been to an away match where it has been so quiet but hey its not like the team gave us much to shout about either.Lets get behind the lads for the next game.UP THE BLUES

Not many though. And they are not saying they are better fans than others. Your post was pathetic if you ask me, and I can only assume you were fishing for the kind of response you got from others (including me).

Anyway, im not into having slagging matches over a forum.
I prefer to sort things out face to face, so im going to call it a day on this one!
