Nothing wrong with that, but the click and collect system was working for essential supplies. Opening their stores opens them up for people to make unessential journeys to buy unessential items.
If they're anything like our local Homebase at the Weir, then they've had the time to properly assess the situation. Homebase is only letting 20 people in the store at at time and has clear floor markings throughout the store. Very well organised.

There has not been an " operable" cancer operation in Southend for four weeks, other cancer care has taken place and most consultation and post OP procedures have been via the phone.
It would not be accurate to suggest there has not been serious and urgent cancer care delays.

My sister is still having treatment at her hospital in London. They keep calling her in, although she's asked them to do some consultations over the phone so she doesn't have to travel unnecessarily.

I’m sure it is well organised. My concerns are that with more places opening and restrictions haven’t been lifted at all we are shooting ourselves in the foot.

Exactly and we could be hit with a “second wave”
I am also concerned in regards to the general wearing of masks and from what I have have seen lately (in the supermarket) people do not wear them correctly and they are forever fiddling with them and then touching things.

In the CoOp yesterday, a couple in their 70s I’d guess were in one aisle decked out in masks and gloves .. ok I thought . I’ll take the next aisle. Browsing the shelves, turn round and the lady is right behind me, making small talk with me and she adjusted her mask while talking before grabbing some tins of some sort. I pegged it to the third aisle. We were the only buggers in the shop!

As has been said, unless worn properly, they aren’t much good. Some guys at work are wearing them, but always seem to be fiddling with them, I guess it may make them feel safer, who knows.

Yes, if not worn or adhered to correctly the benefit may be limited but it is a good visual reminder of the current requirements of isolation.

The real cost of lives, was to ignore Europe particularly Italy and Spain, once Austria refused trains from these countries it was time to take action
We ignored Airports and Ferry Ports testing as people poured into the country from holidays or visitors, Boris shaking hands with all and sundry before hand and laughing it off, lucky he’s around to tell the story whilst 30,000 others are not
Not enough PPE for all services have added to the tally nurses, police, paramedics, fire crews
We must learn from our mistakes and listen to other countries otherwise wave two will be bigger and worse for the oldies, total lockdown will mean total lockdown, no exercise or going out unless emergency, then we will hear the protests from those that think breaking the rules first time was clever
Too many good people have died through the idiots that still breach rules and laws today

There is still no restrictions on anyone arriving at UK airports - was clarified on ITV tonight that there is no date set to bring in any testing / isolation for airport arrivals. Strange when the rest of us are stuck in our homes.

Are you questioning the integrity of the CMO, the head of science and all the other NHS, medical/scientific expertise whose guidance we’re following?
Because if you are then I’d be interested to know who you would suggest we do listen to unless of course it’s Twitter and Facebook where everyone appears to have become an expert in pandemic science overnight.
