Our club really are pathetic sometimes... My partner spent a hour on the phone (off a mobile so 9p a minute!) to be cut off before being able to leave her name and number like the message asked her to.. She was cut off roughly a hour and a half before the announcement that they had sold out. What a poor excuse of customer service that was! Ofcourse trying to get through after that was impossible! The money I've spent this season including hosp packages and mascot packages and that's what you get for it.

Woman hey .... next time if you want to get things done do it yourself I say

I've no doubt she was multitasking instead of concentrating on the one important job

like washing up and texting her mates while holding on the phone to get through , If she really wanted to get through she should of bought some tickets at 9am online like everyone’s else did …. If you only going to do half job Dear don’t bother at all I say  ...

We should give them half of the North Bank and thats that. This will defo sell out for home fans. Im just grateful that my season ticket has meant that i see both, my sons first taste of a derby as well

Why should we do that? They've made that extra effort to accommodate us, I don't see why shouldn't it be reciprocal? I'm sure they'll bring plenty of support along for it too, it's going to be just as appealing for them coming to us for the first time in 4 or 5 years as it is for us going there! The only slight potential deterrent is that it's not got the attraction of being Boxing Day.

So C and P / NEWS.....what do you think the chances of :COL U: issuing us with another batch of tickets ...assuming Southend request extra?

Btw , what is the ground capacity ?
Although I guess there will be some lost to segregation ?

It is just over 10k but for some reason the first 2 or 3 rows for the North Stand are generally covered when there is a reasonable number of away fans (I presume to prevent it being too easy for fans to get close to the pitch other than in gangways which stewards can control) - that takes off at least 250 tickets from the technical capacity of the North Stand and I'd guess we'll lose at least the same amount for segregation between blocks in the East Stand. I'd say the maximum capacity for Boxing day will be around 9500

Honestly don't know - would guess that they'll hold off making any decision on extra allocation for as long as possible to see how home sales are going although realistically the most they could release now would be 1 more block (around 500 seats). Gut feel is that they will leave it another week or maybe two and then make a decision (assuming your club formally request more tickets)

Although it is not popular with some of our fans that you got the extra already dished out, if there is not an upturn in interest from home fans shortly you may well get another 4-500 in my opinion.

As you can see below (Posted before I saw your reply) I had similar thoughts to you NEWS.

Because we always sell out our away allocation, and they don't sell out their home allocation. Got a feeling this season we will sell out home tickets but they rarely sell out their away allocation.

if it was that simple id have done it myself whilst at work.. But unfortunately you can't get disabled & carer (which we require for the little un) tickets through the online service, this has to be done over the phone or in person.

If you had said this then I would have advised you to go directly to Steve Kavanagh. It may still be worth doing so.

Funnily enough now we're safely back in League One I wouldn't swap our last five years for theirs. We won a lot more than we lost and were challenging for promotion every season, had three play-off campaigns and the most dramatic promotion possible, whereas they were just happy with 15th most of the time.

Strange how things work out. I don't want to be heading back to the basement any time soon though...

We felt like that when we dropped into the Conference, it seemed like a real disaster at the time but the next two seasons were great fun and ended in our 1st trip to Wembley.

There are good facilities at the WHCS for the disabled HudsonNo1 with lifts up to raised viewing areas at the back of 3 of the stands, if you can't obtain tickets from Southend it may be worth a call or email to Colchester United just in case they have one available although I know normally they sell out most of the time.

Would just like to add why a season ticket holder could only purchase one ticket per person but two per person on general sale. Also certain clubs operate a count back system depending on how many away games you have attended during the season.

Got to the ticket office just after 10.15 and had to wait nearly a hour before they sold any Col U tickets, they had to sort the postal/online tickets first. One till open to sell other match tickets but nobody in the ticket office could manage to write a sign pointing people in the right direction. Then just before sales they announce that it is two tickets per person (after people had been previously told they can have as many as they want), so that went down well. Great way of looking after fans who make a effort to get there in person - some things never change at SUFC - utter shambles !!

My son (whose a member) went in there mid morning, gave his name & those of 2 of his mates who are also members, and got 3 tickets for them!.

Would like to add it was as Joke BTW ... sorry to hear this .... OldBlueLady or the Colchester's sound like they may have good ideas ... so all's not totally lost :thumbsup:
