Welcome Charley, nice to have you onboard, enjoy your time as a Shrimper!
We know very little about him for goodness sake. There is a process for signing players it isn't done to one person. Without any knowledge, bringing a forward in may enable us to loan out Wood and perhaps even Waldron. Danny has played very little since signing, due mainly to niggling injuries. He needs game time as does Jack. Bearing in mind both contracts I believe are up at the end of the season, decisions need to be made.Anyone else not impressed by long range goals for a loosing team? Or just me ?
We need someone who can create chances and score.
What's his playing style like? I've read that he's a bit of a threat and a handful to defend on his day.
Anyone seen him play?
Edit* I technically have, but don't remember
Are you Phil brown in disguiseYet another young striker with a bang average goals per game tally who if I am honest does not inspire me one bit.
We are crying out for an old proven journeyman, who has done it at this level or above before and if we have to break the bank to get him in then so be it. Anything to get out of this pony division which is becoming more and more painful each year.
I hope, and will be more than happy if I am proved wrong on this one but just like Walker, Bonne etc I am not getting at all excited.
so many balls go in the box especially at homeJust sign all the good up and coming strikers so no one else can
Welcome Charley, youre gonna love it here so many balls go in the box especially at home
Charley looks to have good movement when marked, with our recent slow build up a fox in the box is exactly what's needed, Pepple has found a way to create space to shoot and i reckon this lad will too. Our passes into the box are not always great, i believe he'll do very well in this team. We have the lion's share of possesion in almost every game, time to convert that into goals.so many balls go in the box especially at home
Yeah in our box
If he shoots from there, he will spend most of the time picking splinters out of his arse through spending every game sitting on the bench.
As someone already said, Phil Brown mentality. We won’t get a good striker with a good record unless he’s past his prime, so… nah yer alriteYet another young striker with a bang average goals per game tally who if I am honest does not inspire me one bit.

Sounds Vietnamese, maybe, or Cambodian. Have we signed him?Lets judge him at the end of the season and give him a fair go
Welcome to our club you g nan

Matt Dennis wasn’t a target man and didn’t really create from nothing and he flourished under Maherball. The negativity and pessimisimism surrounding this signing comes from the massive underachieviment this season has been so far. All the goodwill and excitement of a new dawn under new owners, with a team that, last year only missed out on the playoffs because of a 10 point deduction, just floundering around lower midtable playing a brand of football that is one of the worst in the league.
A team out budget and squad is just wholly unacceptable. Most of us have had to endure over a decade of decline , we shouldn't just sit back and passively accept it.
If Charley turns our a good signing, brilliant, I'll be delighted, but my fears are with the way Maher plays, unless he can be a target man or create from nothing, he will struggle.
