This has to be 1-0 to Ron though really?

HMRC have backed down slightly, applying for Administration instead of Liquidation and at the same time have given us an extra week to find the funds.

Or Am I reading it wrong?

All points to either a takeover or someone joining the board as a shareholder in return for the required monies. Looks like we'll find out before the weekend...

I think you are being very optimistic there ?

Im always one for half glass full but from how its written Id say RM was hoping for an extension and we arent able to pay in the next week.

I dont think theres anything as promising as a takeover in the pipeline, I think he was banking on money from Sainsburys.

i think that RM has got the money becuase there's no desperate matches being arranged and McCormack wasn't sold in the summer plus there must be a reason y he's been cuttin back wages for the last six months so hopefully we'll pay it and then in january we can get in 2-3 players in to boost the squad we've currently got.
COME ON U SHRIMPERS UTB

There has been no financial planning in my eyes, the only reason things have changed is because they have been forced upon us. Ron Martin has fooled us all, and brought Southend United to there knees.

hit the nail square on the head mate! although your going to get slaughtered for saying that by the ''uncle ron'' lovers.

The HMRC threat to put us into admin now showing on SSN and BBC Look East.I'm sure RM will work every waking hour between now and Wednesday 4th. November to somehow avoid administration. The last thing he will want is to relinquish control of the club to a firm of accountants(as well as the automatic loss of 10 points).

Its got **** all to do with being ron lovers you ****ing plum .. our club is in desperate crisis, a time when we all need to pull together and fight as one not to start back biting and finger pointing

Jeez some people have no ****ing idea

hey but in a possitive way we've never had this much attension in while on SSN and BBC main headline.

Then he should of paid he's bills like we ALL have to.

It does , however, take the responsibility for putting us into administration out of Rons hands....

As it stood yesterday Ron would be the one putting us into administration and that would have reflected badly on him and also would have looked a bit dodgy were he to be involved with any buying out .
Now he can say he did all he could but HMRC decided to put us in Administration.

Unless he seriously has ideas that he can get the money required in a week, it just becomes a Ron Martin face saving exercise

Thats an excellent point and one which hadn't occured to me. It does ring true with the rest of his statement about the awfully good stuff he's done for the club.

Easy we're all on the same side, I for one agree we as the fans need a united front, and try to find a way to dig ourselves out of this hole. We all have our own thoughts as how we got here, and some people believe Ron is to blame. But lets think how to move forward, my next question would be should Ron head up the club from next week, if not who, is there anybody else.

No think thats way off Im afraid.

If we had the money we wouldnt have had a statement like we had today.

so why isnt every other league one and two club in the same situation? ones who havent had such lucrative cup fixtures, sold a fairly decent amounts worth of asset players

Because they weren in the middle of getting a new stadium built.

(Oh and some are struggling, just look at the points deducted!)
