HMRC have backed down slightly, applying for Administration instead of Liquidation and at the same time have given us an extra week to find the funds.

Or Am I reading it wrong?

All points to either a takeover or someone joining the board as a shareholder in return for the required monies. Looks like we'll find out before the weekend...

To be fair, if Sainsbury's planning application (I think it was) was approved back last month, we'd have had the money from Sainsbury and payed the tax-man and been fine.

Unfortunately for us, it got delayed till the 20th November meaning we won't see any money from them until then at the earliest, unless they are feeling generous.

He didnt say this though did he, he just said we will settle the debt. Surely you cant bank the future of the club on the assumption of someone else paying up.

My initial reaction to the news was that it was goodish news, I hope I'm reading it right.

I have everything crossed this works out, and a white knight comes along with the required monies.

Its better than being wound up but I think RM thought tomorrow he was going to get an agreement to pay the money back in the near future.

Now it looks like he has a week or we go into administration.

It might sound better than some on here thought, ie us going under, but it looks like its worse than RM thought it would be.

There has been no financial planning in my eyes, the only reason things have changed is because they have been forced upon us. Ron Martin has fooled us all, and brought Southend United to there knees.
