Breaking News Callum Powell joins - now official

Offer is made for Kettering Town star Callum Powell

The club have said their top scorer will not be considered for selection while 'negotiations are ongoing'

"Having been that we must have watched Harrison Neal at Kettering, and Murphy being out, with a couple of ITK members on here saying 1 possible 2 more signings this week, what are the odds?"

My post #333 on Tuesday from the "Kevin Maher signings thread........" :Whistling:

Walking on water again eh?

Not going to lie folks. Callum is a smashing lad but his spell at Wrexham was forgettable. A recent podcast with a former player who summed Callum up by saying he thought he’d made it but couldn’t cope with the “hands dirty” stuff when things got tough. Prima Donna in his own mind.

Which probably explains why he tumbled down into the league below. Perhaps he always had the ability but the attitude was lacking? Seems like the spell in NLN has made him wake up, because his stats this season are undeniable.

5/6 years or so ago he was at Wrexham by the looks of things, I don't think anyone is or ever has been the finished article as a person or a player at 20/21 years old. Time will tell but looks an impressive signing to me, based upon his goal and assist contribution so far this season.

Not at all surprised to hear that. He’d be far from the first young player to need the wake up call of being released and having to get a real job to knuckle down.

It’s one of the reasons I’m keen for us to recruit from part-time leagues as they’d have had that awakening and have bounced back. Sometimes you don’t appreciate what you have until it’s gone.
