BT- OD week 11

This is definitely going to the wire

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Pendle CC

Pendle CC won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Cracked

End of Over 44: 204-5, runrate=4.64, reqrunrate=6.17 (240-10)
Lea 7-0-29-0
Chandrasiri* 8 (5 balls)
Sutton 110 (140 balls)

Last Wicket: Sargeant c. Evelyn b. Oconnor 6 (FOW: 190/5)

You sure YB?

45.4 W Hammill to Daniels
Organ has done exceptionally well to pick the ball up looking straight into the sun. Well taken and Daniels will now be heading back to the pavilion

And that's the end of the match. Southend won by 8 wickets.
Bowling Bowling Mushy 227-10
Southend 228-2

End of Over 48: 228-2, runrate=4.75
Hull 8-0-54-0
Davenport* 121 (115 balls)
Granville 52 (53 balls)

What a result! Wickets in hand was the day's winner - we bowled them all out whilst they couldnt dislodge my top 4 easily. Davenport has earnt his wage this week for sure. BBM have lost just once all season (twice now!) and should beat me. With 5th and 6th winning today, this win is huge and leaves me sat in 3rd 4 points clear of 4th. Had written this game off too when looking at the season's fixtures.

46.3 lb1 Nichol to Dodd
Slanted down the leg side, off the pads and an easy leg bye.
46.2 1 Nichol to Holt
Wide delivery, smacked to deep cover region for an easy single.
46.1 2 Nichol to Holt
He's gloved it but just wide of the wickie's fingertips. Two runs.

C'MON ON!

I need wickets

Sutton 114 (145 balls)

Last Wicket: Sargeant c. Evelyn b. Oconnor 6 (FOW: 190/5)

Yes

47.3 W Lea to Chandrasiri
Through the gap and bowled! The fielding side congregate in the middle but Lea looks a little taken aback as Garvey pats his bottom.
47.2 1 Lea to Sutton
Easy single.
47.1 1 Lea to Chandrasiri
On the toes, pushed to the ground, mid wicket fields as they scramble for the single.

End of Over 47: 221-5, runrate=4.70, reqrunrate=6.67 (240-10)

Edit - Double Yes

47.5 1 Lea to Lightbody
Solid stroke down to long off.
47.4 W Lea to Westall
Westall smashes the ball straight back to Lea, who puts out his hand and pushes the ball up in the air to be taken on the second attempt. Caught and bowled.

Must be favourite now

Reporter's Summary
Bowling Bowling Mushy Southend
Top Order: sensational wonderful
Middle Order: wonderful quality
Lower Order: woeful woeful
Seam Bowling: exceptional wonderful
Spin Bowling: remarkable masterful
Fielding: competent mediocre

Ratings suggest they were unlucky, but think today showed how vital getting Sipho in was. 6-33 and took 2 of their sensational opening rating.

Come on - 13 need off 8 balls with just 2 wickets left

48.4 W Oconnor to Lightbody
Lightbody runs that one down to third man and they should get an easy single. Raziuddin slings the throw in and Lightbody will have to hurry... Oh amazing! He's run him out from a good 35 metres!

Bloody hell 4 and a 3 off Des' last 2 balls leave them needing 6 off the last over. Lea to bowl at the tail-ender.

End of Over 49: 235-8, runrate=4.80, reqrunrate=6.00 (240-10)
Oconnor 10-1-59-1
Oneill* 3 (1 balls)
Sutton 122 (149 balls)

Last Wicket: Lightbody Run Out 2 (FOW: 228/8)

Edit - 2 dots - 6 needed off 4.

Edit - another dot - 6 needed off 3

Edit - yet another dot - 6 needed off 2, why do get the feeling I'm going to lose this !
