BT- OD week 11

Museshrimper said:
What level is Potter? And what's his form? Hudson has been below feeble form all season and has not registered a good score in my OD league all season. He has 116 from a cup game I believe, and has scored about 80 in all the other innings. May sell him in the close-season if it doesn't improve.
I believe he's something like Wonderful / Exquiste. If you look at his figures he averages over 100, but he's only scored 1 50 and 3 tons in 10 innings. Form wise he's now at Respectable, and I think he's been at Superb most of the season.

Hmm, weird that he's underperforming a lot then. Hudson is wonderful/quality, in terrible form and it's been showing.

End of Over 16: 56-1, runrate=3.50, reqrunrate=5.06 (227-10)
Dodd 3-0-15-0
Davenport* 18 (18 balls)
Thay 19 (50 balls)
Last Wicket: Hudson lbw b. Tenius 16 (FOW: 29/1)

Slow run rate here but we're getting by.

Evelyn was very similar for me last year, and I thought about selling him, but this season he's been class. 7 50's and 5 100's from 13 OD innings. Up to the Mrs, but I'd be inclined to hang on to him until the middle of next season at least. Same for you with Hudson, he's still young enough to turn it around, or to be sold for very good money.

At 78-1 off 14 overs we were staring down the barrell, but Skip took 2 wickets in consecutive balls in his 1st over to bring us back into it. Down to him and Des to put the squeeze on now. If we can get Sutton out as well, it'll be game over I reckon.

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Pendle CC

Pendle CC won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Cracked

End of Over 17: 87-3, runrate=5.12, reqrunrate=4.67 (240-10)
Prasad 2-0-3-2
Sutton* 46 (50 balls)
Neal 1 (7 balls)

Last Wicket: Edgerley-harris lbw b. Prasad 0 (FOW: 79/3)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Looking good for Mrs BB

Hoveshire Hawks v DIBS DIPPERS

Hoveshire Hawks won the toss and elected to bat.
Pitch: Dusty

End of Over 17: 100-2, runrate=5.88, reqrunrate=3.30 (208-6)
Kearns 4-0-27-0
Eagles* 41 (43 balls)
Stride 41 (37 balls)

Last Wicket: Owens c. Crane b. Queque 8 (FOW: 31/2)

Hudson has been brilliant every other season so I'm hoping it's a one off.

My oppo's bowlers are on sets of 5, and their 32k per week spinner has finished his first stint. He will be replaced by a 2k per week bowler, so hoping to make hay while the sun shines.

End of Over 20: 70-1, runrate=3.50, reqrunrate=5.27 (227-10)
Dodd 5-0-25-0
Davenport* 30 (28 balls)
Thay 21 (64 balls)
Last Wicket: Hudson lbw b. Tenius 16 (FOW: 29/1)

We won and much like the FC game we scored 85 and Richie got 61 of them! I'm turning into a two man team but the back up cast are ok so I can live with that.

And that's the end of the match. Southend United won by 8 wickets.
Battrick Nightmare 125-10
Southend United 126-2

End of Over 30: 126-2, runrate=4.20
Marshall 2-0-5-0
Barnett* 13 (21 balls)
Hoult 44 (86 balls)

This is frustrating, their weak bowler is on yet we're not taking advantage. The run rate is ever increasing. Thay needs to get out now really.

End of Over 26: 88-1, runrate=3.38, reqrunrate=5.83 (227-10)
Tenius 8-1-20-1
Davenport* 40 (48 balls)
Thay 29 (80 balls)
Last Wicket: Hudson lbw b. Tenius 16 (FOW: 29/1)

Oh you teasers.

Just taken 13, 11 and 10 off the last 3 overs to take me to 123-5 chasing 189.

its good to cash in on their 4th and 5th bowlers (BTRs of 65,000 and 20,000) and every extra run helps my NRR but they are just getting my hopes up to be dashed again.

This is going to be a close one I think

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Pendle CC

Pendle CC won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Cracked

End of Over 26: 125-3, runrate=4.81, reqrunrate=4.83 (240-10)
Lea 1-0-4-0
Neal* 19 (27 balls)
Sutton 66 (84 balls)

Last Wicket: Edgerley-harris lbw b. Prasad 0 (FOW: 79/3)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

As is Mrs BB's

Hoveshire Hawks v DIBS DIPPERS

Hoveshire Hawks won the toss and elected to bat.
Pitch: Dusty

End of Over 26: 143-4, runrate=5.50, reqrunrate=2.75 (208-6)
Draper 8-1-29-3
Morgan* 1 (1 balls)
Stride 64 (56 balls)

Last Wicket: Hutton c. Mccafferty b. Draper 6 (FOW: 142/4)

End of Over 32: 123-2, runrate=3.84, reqrunrate=5.83 (227-10)
Dodd 6-0-31-1
Granville* 1 (1 balls)
Davenport 67 (74 balls)
Last Wicket: Thay lbw b. Dodd 32 (FOW: 118/2)

Thay departs. The next 8 overs decides this match - their best 2 spinners are on, and in the final 10 a strong/competent will be at one end bowling. Need these two to take us to the final 10.

Middleton and Schoeman are back for their last 3 over spells. If we can get a couple of wickets, we should win.

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Pendle CC

Pendle CC won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Cracked

End of Over 34: 158-3, runrate=4.65, reqrunrate=5.19 (240-10)
Lea 5-0-17-0
Sutton* 83 (109 balls)
Neal 33 (50 balls)

Last Wicket: Edgerley-harris lbw b. Prasad 0 (FOW: 79/3)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB almost there

Hoveshire Hawks v DIBS DIPPERS

Hoveshire Hawks won the toss and elected to bat.
Pitch: Dusty

End of Over 35: 203-4, runrate=5.80, reqrunrate=0.40 (208-6)
Kearns 8-0-59-0
Morgan* 23 (30 balls)
Stride 101 (81 balls)

Last Wicket: Hutton c. Mccafferty b. Draper 6 (FOW: 142/4)

End of Over 35: 159-6, runrate=4.54, reqrunrate=17.53 (421-2)
Whittingham 4-0-12-0
Eccles* 16 (19 balls)
Hammill 3 (7 balls)

Last Wicket: Rees c. Back b. Van niekerk 2 (FOW: 152/6)

I need to rotate the bowlers better!

End of Over 36: 160-8, runrate=4.44, reqrunrate=18.71 (421-2)
Edwards 5-1-11-3
Eccles* 17 (22 balls)
Edwards 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Carson b. Edwards 0 (FOW: 160/8)

35.6 W Edwards to Carson
There is no sweeter sound in cricket than the sound of the bails clattering to the floor, so it's no wonder that Edwards is pleased. Bowled him!
35.5 W Edwards to Hammill
HOWZAT? Given him. A neat catch by Back after a good piece of bowling by Edwards. Hammill just didn't have an answer.

Anyone's game as we go into the last 10

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Pendle CC

Pendle CC won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Cracked

End of Over 40: 176-4, runrate=4.40, reqrunrate=6.50 (240-10)
Schoeman 10-0-52-0
Sutton* 95 (128 balls)
Sargeant 2 (2 balls)

Last Wicket: Neal c. Evelyn b. Middleton 37 (FOW: 169/4)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB won by 6 wickets

Bloody hell, I should win this from here

End of Over 41: 178-5, runrate=4.34, reqrunrate=1.22 (188-10)
Nichol 6-0-36-0
Ramsden* 52 (74 balls)
Holt 52 (71 balls)

40.6 1 Nichol to Ramsden
Nicely worked around the legs to deep square leg.
40.5 1 Nichol to Holt
There were never two there, so they almost walked the single.
40.4 1 Nichol to Ramsden
Solid stroke down to long off.
40.3 4 Nichol to Ramsden
Lovely shot, Ramsden's timing was like a Swiss watch.
And that's his fifty! Well played.
40.2 1 Nichol to Holt
Cuts the ball to third man.
40.1 4 Nichol to Holt
Boom! Super shot. Short and well outside off, Holt stands up tall, gets close to the line of the delivery and forces it past point. Violent but elegantly done.
And that's his fifty! Well played.

I still think I'll somehow lose. Nicholl is a miles better bowler than my batsmen are batters.

43.1 1 Hull to Davenport
Nudges just in front of point for a single.
And that's a century for Davenport! Well played indeed Sir!

End of Over 43: 183-2, runrate=4.26, reqrunrate=6.43 (227-10)
Featherstone 7-1-27-0
Davenport* 99 (103 balls)
Granville 29 (38 balls)
Last Wicket: Thay lbw b. Dodd 32 (FOW: 118/2)

Great knock from Davenport when needed. 45 off 7 to win, Featherstone needs to be kept at bay and Hull can be smashed around. Will be a major coup if we can win this.

And that's the end of the match. Napster's XI won by 247 runs.
Napster's XI 421-2
t-rex 174-10

End of Over 40: 174-10, runrate=4.35
Edwards 6-1-13-4
Hodge* 2 (5 balls)

good spell from Eddie the Eagle, his first spell in place of Nguyen-Lee

Bloody hell, I should win this from here

I still think I'll somehow lose. Nicholl is a miles better bowler than my batsmen are batters.

Bugger. Right again.

42.5 W Nichol to Mcintosh
What a superlative catch! Mcintosh has just been dispatched by an unbelievable ball and following catch from Nichol, diving full length to his left. Impeccable reflexes, simply impeccable.
42.4 . Nichol to Mcintosh
A firm drive is well stopped and there's no run.
42.3 W Nichol to Ramsden
Ramsden is not happy with that. Everything was wrong. It pitched outside leg and he got an inside edge, but the umpire's given him out. He might get a fine for waiting so long before walking off.

44.6 4 Featherstone to Davenport
Right off the middle of the bat and the ball races to the boundary.
44.5 4 Featherstone to Davenport
Great shot. He gave it the full face of the bat and it raced away to the boundary.
44.4 4 Featherstone to Davenport
Excellent shot from Davenport. No real power just technique and timing. Finds the gap and it goes for four with ease.

Wow. After scratching around against rubbish, Davenport leans into Featherstone. Brilliant over, 15 off it. 24 to win...
