BT- OD week 11

loz

President
Won't be able to check my game today as I'm off to Norwich for a job interview (:offtopic: , beats ones self)... am playing the team in 3rd, one place above me but who i beat by 30 runs earlier in the season. Their spin bowling is traditionally their weakness, so it's a dusty track for me and Cairns opening up to try and dislodge a couple of their dangerous top order. on a GFI as I have two easy games next week (not to mention a SZ cup game against Naps :p), everyone plays except Big Ben.

Full strength side out today, Middleton at Energetic everybody else Sublime. Playing 3rd who beat me earlier in the season, he annoyed me last week by throwing his game against the leaders, so I'd love it, just love it if I turned him over today. GFI all the way !

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB resting a few against the bottom side, but the big guns of Potter, Stride, Mohammed and Eagles all play. She's GFI as well, should be an easy win as her oppo's PFL is not in the best of health.

Inter SZ match against Crabbys Catchers. We should have the edge but you never know with my team. The last uneven pitch I played on I ended up getting tonked!

Cheeky.

Should be an easy win today, against a bot with a 100% losing record.

Also, I've been fiddling around with the squad yesterday (oo-er) and I've now settled on my first XI, and put Nguyen-Lee on the list for 500k. However, I need a decent bowler, as I only have 4 decent bowlers for level V, but each time I go into the transfer market, I get outbid at the last min each time. Very annoying.

:'(

Away to Bowling Bowling Mushy, who top my league. I've gone GFI on a full team like in every OD game this season, and I want to keep it respectable. My NRR is superior to those in the bottom half and it needs to stay that way, as 4 points for a win often means that NRR is effectively an extra victory.

Granville and Cronin are energetic, the rest sublime. It's a dusty pitch so may have a chance.

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Pendle CC

We can tell you that Pendle CC won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this partially cloudy and humid day.

And the ****er has a full-strength team out

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hoveshire Hawks v DIBS DIPPERS

We can tell you that Hoveshire Hawks won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this partially cloud day.

Good start

Welcome to t-rex CG for the match between t-rex and Napster's XI.

We can tell you that t-rex won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a cracker! Hard and fast - should be a run-fest out there on this sunny day.

Lets join our team for ball-by-ball commentary.

End of Over 1: 11-0, runrate=11.00
Hodge 1-0-11-0
Prag* 10 (5 balls)
Jefferson 1 (1 balls)

End of Over 5: 28-1, runrate=5.60
Sipho 3-0-13-1
Woozley* 13 (17 balls)
Gurusinha 14 (12 balls)
Last Wicket: Tenius c. Rennie b. Sipho 0 (FOW: 0/1)

Wicket first ball of this one. Gurusinha is the one to get, he's in the Sri Lanka NT. Still, this is one strong side we're up against. Run rate a worry already.

Good start from my boys

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Pendle CC

Pendle CC won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Cracked

End of Over 5: 23-0, runrate=4.60
Loxley 3-0-7-0
Ricketts* 11 (19 balls)
Evelyn 10 (12 balls)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Early wicket for Mrs BB

Hoveshire Hawks v DIBS DIPPERS

Mohammed 3-2-4-1
Crane* 1 (11 balls)
Mccafferty 4 (11 balls)

Last Wicket: Kean c. Stride b. Mohammed 1 (FOW: 2/1)

getting in the groove

End of Over 6: 53-0, runrate=8.83
Edwards 3-0-26-0
Jefferson* 17 (17 balls)
Prag 34 (19 balls)

Good start. Also my mediocre 17yo sold for £70k which was nice.

End of Over 6: 22-3, runrate=3.67
Cook 3-0-6-1
Worrall* 3 (7 balls)
Elvis 7 (8 balls)

Last Wicket: Wilkinson b. Sutherland 3 (FOW: 15/3)

End of Over 7: 30-2, runrate=4.29
Barrowdale 4-1-10-1
Macken* 5 (8 balls)
Gilbert 10 (23 balls)

Last Wicket: Burton c. Bartlett b. Knight 14 (FOW: 22/2)

Touching as much wood as possible, this is looking good. We've seen off Loxley, who has run through us in a couple of games, so hopefully we can post a daunting score. Good effort from Fat-Boy who's only Strong / Resoectable but averages 34 opening the batting this season.

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Pendle CC

Pendle CC won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Cracked

End of Over 10: 48-0, runrate=4.80
Oneill 5-0-31-0
Evelyn* 16 (20 balls)
Ricketts 29 (41 balls)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB could possibly do with another couple of wickets, as her bowling isn't the strongest after these 2

Hoveshire Hawks v DIBS DIPPERS

Hoveshire Hawks won the toss and elected to bat.
Pitch: Dusty

End of Over 10: 11-2, runrate=1.10
Eagles 5-1-7-0
Lees* 3 (9 balls)
Mccafferty 5 (25 balls)

Last Wicket: Crane c. Stride b. Mohammed 2 (FOW: 7/2)

Another devastating spell from Suthers.

End of Over 13: 46-6, runrate=3.54
Sutherland 7-1-24-5
Larkman* 1 (3 balls)
Elvis 14 (18 balls)

Last Wicket: Mason c & b. Sutherland 0 (FOW: 45/6)

12.4 W Sipho to Gurusinha
Sipho runs in, shortish ball around off stump. Gurusinha goes back, and chops on! That ball was nowhere near wide enough to cut. Poor shot choice.

You beauty Sipho. Brings in another excellent batsman but we've got the NT boy.

End of Over 13: 72-2, runrate=5.54
Sipho 7-0-31-2
Woozley* 34 (42 balls)
Barnes 1 (1 balls)
Last Wicket: Gurusinha b. Sipho 32 (FOW: 70/2)

End of Over 17: 57-6, runrate=3.35
Gamage 2-1-1-2
Loxley* 0 (2 balls)
Thabiso 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Joseph b. Gamage 0 (FOW: 57/6)

19.1 W Granville to Woozley
Superb catch behind by Thay.

End of Over 19: 90-2, runrate=4.74
Deakin 3-0-8-0
Woozley* 47 (62 balls)
Barnes 6 (17 balls)
Last Wicket: Gurusinha b. Sipho 32 (FOW: 70/2)

Game on! 90-3 and we're squeezing them. We won't chase a high score so need wickets still.

Still going very well here, yet another 50 for The King

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Pendle CC

Pendle CC won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Cracked

End of Over 20: 105-0, runrate=5.25
Lightbody 5-1-21-0
Ricketts* 49 (68 balls)
Evelyn 53 (53 balls)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB's back-up bowlers doing a reasonable job of keeping it tight

Hoveshire Hawks v DIBS DIPPERS

Hoveshire Hawks won the toss and elected to bat.
Pitch: Dusty

End of Over 20: 41-2, runrate=2.05
Higgs 3-0-10-0
Lees* 21 (43 balls)
Mccafferty 17 (51 balls)

Last Wicket: Crane c. Stride b. Mohammed 2 (FOW: 7/2)

End of Over 22: 168-0, runrate=7.64
Rees 1-0-13-0
Jefferson* 58 (51 balls)
Prag 106 (81 balls)

21.6 . Rees to Prag
Sound defensive technique from Prag there, getting well forward and deflecting the ball to the on side.
21.5 2 Rees to Prag
Pitched up, driven through cover, Carson gets an ironic cheer for fielding this one cleanly.
21.4 6 Rees to Prag
Prag hits that straight out of the ground and through the pub window. They'll have to wipe the beer off the ball.
And that's a century for Prag! Well played indeed Sir!
