I understand what people are saying about letting him complete his transfer business and then judge him after a few more games. But the fact of the matter is that two or three more signings will do nothing when the players we have at the moment look like the last thing they want to do is play for him.

None of them are busting their nuts to run through brick walls for him and I honestly think he's lost the dressing room completely. There's no coming back from that. We could sign whichever three players we want tomorrow, but if the other 8 on the pitch don't give a **** then it will be irrelevant.

Demetriou is the prime example. Lots of people on here are criticising his performances. This was a player who was player of the year last season for a League One side very nearly promoted. He's a fantastic player, but he's cut a very depressed and frustrated figure lately. He hasn't become a bad player over night, so you can only blame Brown for it. We need a change, desperately.

This. A million times over. This is what I've been saying for a month now. Our problems aren't personnel. These players are better than they're showing. But they look uninterested, clueless, frustrated, shackled and they look like they're not playing for him. I've said it so many times. He lost the dressing room last season, you could see it. The only way he was going to come back from that this season was to sign a WHOLE new squad. That was never going to happen, the new signings we've made and might make before Wednesday will see pretty quickly that their new teammates aren't playing for the gaffer and they will soon fall into that pit too. It's a lost cause now in my eyes.

I dont see that is how we are playing at all.

We dont go out and defend, we are playing 442 with two wingers and only one central midfielder with any defensive ability. 442 after all apparently wasnt a defensive tactic when everyone wanted us to play it when he played one up front.

I think people are confusing playing with no attacking/creative threat with being defensive.

Theres nothing defensive about us, we are just ****.

Didn't say we were defensive but agree are ****!

You said negative, and thats the same.

We played 2 wingers today and King, leaving us only one defensive midfielder (and I dont think Leonard is particularly good at being one).

Thats not negative.

But yes it is **** :)

Are they though?

Look at our midfield today

McLaughlin King Leonard ONeill.

Is that really a midfield that inspires anyone to believe we should be doing well?In front of them is Bridge who may well grow into a player but is still a kid.

I do think they could be doing better in things like pressing etc but I just dont see them being good enough.

The defence, actually doesnt look too bad on paper, but with such a weak midfield in front of it doesnt stand much of a chance.

The fact that is our midfield is plenty to criticise for though.

How has he been afforded so much time, any other club would have binned him a long time ago.

Hopefully this will be the last Football League job this boring negative egotistical wally gets!!!!

No Embargos, huge backroom teams including chief scouts (waste of space) and Horton. Biggest squads we have ever had at the club and backed with pre season tours etc etc

Bin him now and let him count his shares ;)

Didn't get us promoted though did he.

Brown nicked a promotion, negative and boring it was sheer togetherness of that squad that stumbled through the play offs. With the calibre of squad and financial support he was given we should have arguably won that league.

Agree he's been backed and agree he's always had good players at his disposal. You can't nick a promotion over 46 games though - you earn your position in the table. You can get lucky at Wembley mind.

I go to football matches to be entertained. If our players give their all and entertain me and we lose fair enough however what I have seen over the last 6 months has generally been very poor and totally unentertaining with negative tactics thrown in,

Its time for PB to be replaced. His time is up. Had enough. That was some of the poorest football I have witnessed for some time.

In fairness we were the better team at Wembley in a very poor game, plus we should have had a nailed-on penalty in the second half of normal time. You can't call us "lucky" just because of the timing of the equaliser, we deserved it more than Wycombe.

That said though Brown's time is up and I hope Ron pulls the trigger soon as he's completely lost the dressing room.

He nicked a promotion by getting the most amount of points we have ever had at this level since 3 points for a win. That amount of points would have indeed won that league on many seasons, it was certainly enough to get promotion most years. Rather than nicked promotion Id say we were actually unlucky not to have been promoted outright with the amount of points.

Even in the final we were unlucky not to have won in normal time, a perfectly good goal disallowed.

Since March we have been woeful and he deserves all the criticism thrown his way and I reckon is odds on for being gone by October, but lets not diminish the achievement of getting promoted.

Do you actually support Southend? We won and deserved promotion. I bet if you were at Wembley you would have been praising the team and Brown like everyone else.

A protest at the Millwall game? Really? Not the most sensible of suggestions.

Ron was out of his seat well before the end of the match, if there's a decision to be made, then I'd be pretty sure he's made it.

Ron certainly never needs to be pushed into getting rid of a manager if he feels the need. Even dismissed Tilson when he knew it would be the most unpopular decision to make.

See what happens with the players that he manages to get in before transfer deadline day and see how they improve the team in the next couple of games. Don't think a match against Millwall is the best idea for a protest. I can imagine some of the knuckle scrapers at Millwall will be more than happy to join in the peaceful protest, not.

Tough looking September coming up with the following games..

Bolton Away
Scunthorpe Away
Millwall Home
Northampton Away
Oxford Home

A poor return from these and I cannot realistically seeing PB surviving.

Haha! A load of 14 year olds in fake stone island! That will get brown out. Who on earth do you think would come to southend and be any better?

As has been mentioned before...Chris Powell. Not sure why there is this self-depricating attitude amongst some supporters that we aren't a good enough outfit to entice someone better than Brown.
Let's get this straight - Brown is a big name, but a **** manager. I'd rather have a decent manager who conducts himself with dignity and in the interests of our club, and doesn't have this supposed profile.

Hope you are right as eluded to on Twitter - he has to go now for me.

There is no doubting that Brown is not the best loved SUFC employee at the moment, and after the team's displays of late it's not surprising. The thing about protests is that they have to have a lot of visible support to have any effect at all. I've seen a few in my time and there have been very few that have had any bite or impact, maybe the impromptu one regarding a move to Basildon was an exception.

Ron is not stupid, as someone else said, he knows exactly what he is going to do, and when, and protests are not going to change that one bit. By all means if you really want to protest then go ahead, but at this time the Southend team needs our support more than ever as Millwall will think we are there for the taking. I still have the hump from the last 1-4 stuffing we got at home so I will be channeling all of my energy into backing the team.

And to think people wanted rid of Sturrock. Would have him back in a heartbeat. At least we scored regularly!

I will tag along if its a Ron out protest...

Sturrock's side that sat top for most of the season ground out results even when playing pretty unappealing football - we are a million miles from that.
