IF we did win the replay and draw Chelsea then I feel let down by the club.

What a ridiculous way of doing things, so season card holders can each bring along a plastic fan (hopefully a Southend supporter) with the remaining 3,000 tickets (Southend end) being snapped of by hangers on - or as someone mentioned, someone not even watching the match.

Big error from within the club here - I feel let down. I would sack off Oxford tomorrow in annoyance but I am the only one who would miss out.

My mates a season ticket holder, I can only go to two thirds of matches. I stand in the North Bank with said mate, therefore I don't need to buy a season ticket to ensure we watch together. I am hoping that my mate will give me his second ticket , I am going to guess/hope that there will be a lot of people in my situation who end up with the spare ticket

I'm also a bit miffed that tickets for Brentford only go on general sale after 36-48 hours of season card holders getting their chance. Surely it's unlikely that we will sell out our 1800 allotment? The club say they will not post any tickets and as I don't live in Southend (in fact live only 6 miles from Brentford!) I won't be able to get a ticket! So I've either got to get an away ticket from Brentford (is that possible?) or hope that it's pay on the night for away fans (unlikely?). Like most clubs there are supporters who live away from their teams location, can't get to every game but still attend a fair quantity of games both home and away. As I can't always plan that far ahead I've had to go in the away end at both Wimbledon and Daggers this season but with over a week to go before the game I was hoping that I would be able to do it properly this time!

On a similar vein, I will be attending the Plymouth game with my son but don't hold out much hope of then queuing with everyone else after the game (if we are successful against Brentford of course!). And I certainly won't be leaving the match early. The last time I did that I was with my friend and his dad in the late 70's. We were losing 0-2 to Newport with 15 mins to go ..... I missed our 4 goals!!! I vowed to never leave a game early again.

Don't think I can make the replay , but does anyone know whether there is a chance it will be televised ?
Not sure what ITV and their crap coverage has planned.

ManUre vs the Hamsters is ITV's live replay. Not sure if ESPN will show one...

ESPN are showing the Arsenal v Swansea replay. Our replay will not be live on TV. Whoever wins though has a very good chance of their match against Chelsea being broadcast live.

Would go Brentford, but I have my English AS exam the next morning .
I've also come to the conclusion I'm not going to the Chelsea game, should it happen. I don't think I could stand all the non-regulars... Also Ron will probably hike the prices up, and if it's going to be on TV, there's no point paying it. Sad times. At least I can join in the Twitter hype during the game though. (If it happens.)

What is the point in watching the side through the bad times only to miss the good times. Go and try to ignore the day trippers.

Im a season ticket holder and agree regarding getting the +1 isnt fair on non seaso regulars. If (big if) we do go through I certainly wont be getting anyone who isnt a regular a ticket.

Hopefully all the regular fans (seasos, shareholders and regulars) would get tickets if we beat Brentford -- any "gloryhunters" monies would be gratefully accepted in addition.

If the club has any savvy they would hand out vouchers at the two home games before which if you have both entitles you to a ticket after season ticket holders subject to availability. That way we should get a bumper crowd more than once.

Brentford will sell away tickets on the night, its not an all ticket match and there is no way we will sell 1,800 tickets.

Thanks for the info and I will give Griffin Park a ring to see if I can get the tickets in advance. They will surely be expecting to draw a big crowd; approaching 10000 maybe.

Adult half season ticket £187 nine home games left £19 x 9 = £171
Surely Southend cant charge more for a half season ticket than it would cost to buy individual tickets. O.K. you can guarantee 2 Chelsea tickets if we get through, but the season ticket price is a rip-off.

There are 10 home league games remaining.

Ah yes think I forgot about the Cheltenham game that needs to be rearranged, but then again so did the ticket office when telling people how many games they would get to see with the half-season ticket! Still can't see them selling that many by Thursday.

I agree. Depending on which Thursday they mean, of course.

I think the club are doing it the fairest way possible.
STH and shareholders should have first option as no point if they don't get some priority.
The ones that may miss out are 'regulars' who are not either of the above , but will simply have to take their chance along with the "gloryhunters".
Not much the club can do I guess , other than the very complicated way of checking their data base as to who has bought tickets on line this season etc ( but that would be too difficult to administer ).
I am one of the 'regulars' but non STH , so will take my chance after the Plymouth game or shamlessly beg to a nice STH for their extra ticket.
By the way , have I ever mentioned how much I admire you and your witty , insightful posts ?

That is exactly what I am going to do with my spare ticket - I plan to offer it to a bloke who sits behind me and is not a season ticket holder but is at all the games. At the FA cup game against Bury, he was there on the absolutely freezing -6 coldest night ever and bought me a lovely cup of hot chocolate at half time.

This is my problem too as I fall into this category. I'm a former season ticket holder who has not renewed for the past couple of years as I've moved away from the area so can't make the Tuesday night games anymore.

I'm going to Exeter on Saturday and so now have the problem of not being able to get up to Southend to buy tickets for the Brentford replay. Does anyone know whether its possible to buy the tickets via the Southend ticket office and pick them up at Brentford on the night?

Please let us know how that goes. In a similar boat myself. Taking some non-Southend mates and would much prefer terracing over the seating option and not sure if they'll be available at 7.30 next Tuesday.
