Balls. Waited three fecking years for a chance to see the Blues and now thanks to poxy beauracratics and organisation it looks like I'm going to have to watch this ship from the harbour. Again.

We won't sell 1,800 tickets for the Brentford game. You'll be able to pay on the gate.

Brentford ticket office informed me today that it's tickets only for away fans! I guess that means you can get in to the home end if you wish.

Well thats not fair seeing loads of their fans paid on the day at our ground, shocking Brentford.

The Brentford ticket office said it was all ticket for away fans because Southend had taken up their full entitlement of 1800 tickets; so I guess the onus is on Southend to return unsold tickets before Tuesday, allowing some to pay on the gate.

Oh for ****s sake. I'm in the same boat as you - living (and working) appreciably nearer to Brentford than Southend. Ah well, home end it is then!

Surely James, you know enough people who could get you one here and bring it down with them?

Good point Kay, I may pull in a favour. Shame it's next week as I'm down in Essex on the Saturday for the Plymouth game.

Where there's a will....

For all those suggesting a voucher system vs Plymouth or similar such scheme for the Chelsea game if it happens, don't forget the ticket office is currently staffed by unpaid schoolchildren and if the club cannot change its answerphone message for five years I wouldn't trust them with a voucher scheme. Or, for that matter, a big FA Cup tie in any way. Could be an interesting couple of weeks.

So if i've got this right, assuming we win at Brentford, tickets will be sold after the Plymouth game to anyone on the clubs database?.
Lets presume there are 3-4,000 tickets available. If 'fans' decide to miss the Plymouth game, and start queueing at 3pm, by full time loyal fans who have watched the game will be way back in the queue, with no guarantee of getting a ticket?.
Remember when we queued for Man U tickets, office opened at 9am and were sold out by mid-day(?). That means fans will be in the car park in the dark till 8pm in the dark!.
Also man U tickets were sold on a week day, with no traffic in the car park. As this would happen on a match day with the car park full, trying to assemble an organised queue will result in chaos.
If applicable, selling on the sunday morning would be so much more sensible for more than 1 reason?.

cannot the ticket office send the tickets down to Brentford (on the coach even) in nice white envelopes for supporters to pick up from Brentford....

they used to do it -

no extra work or expense

Worth an ask, I'll have a word with those on the Trust coach.

Why is everyone getting worried. We will not sell 1,800 tickets, its not an all ticket match, there will be tickets for away fans available on the night.

First thing tomorrow I will be paying for the tickets promised to me by the office and they will then (hopefully!) be sent to Brentford for collection by me on Tuesday night. Watch this space!

I'd like to think not but it really is up to Southend to return any unsold tickets and then I am sure that would be viable. However as far as Brentford are concerned, as we have taken the full 1800 entitlement then at this moment in time they have no room for those without tickets.

Brentford fan here. We haven't got swanky bar code thingys, so if the tickets Southend have got now are not all sold, then the physical tickets won't have to be returned to Brentford. Just pay on the gate.
