Echoes of two years ago when we signed a full-back who'd looked classy going forward in a brief loan spell with us, despite having an established player under contract at that position.

Hopefully this one has a happier ending as he's the first signing in a while with potential resell value.

We signed Hendrie on loan because Coker was injured.

Right, I think I've got this.

So, O'Neill came in to replace an established right back (John White) and was good going forward to support Atkinson, who played on the left, supporting Coker, who was injured and replaced by Hendrie, who can play in centre midfield. McLaughlin now also plays centre-midfield, as Hendrie is now out on the left, covering for Atkinson, who went to the right and then left the club, with O'Neill, who was covering for White who has been replaced by Demetriou, who can't defend, so will probably play centre-midfield alongside Hendrie and McLaughlin, who are covering for Coker, who is switching to the right, to cover for Demetriou.

There madness lies.................

I agree.

I don't think we have enough cover at right-back, for a start!

Since the Hendrie a turner news it all seems to have gone quiet. Is the Scottish centre half and attacking midfielder dead in the water.

If we tie him to a post we might at least keep a few headers out at corners!

Always been in favour of having a man on the line for those tricky free kicks. Put some wheels on him (Turner) and Oxley can wheel him behind the goal line for much of the time and still keep catching the opposition off side. Difficult for the linesman though ..............

This is possibly looking dodgier now, given Rangers' embarrassing Europa League exit to Luxembourgish part-timers Progrès Neiderkorn... they may feel they have a chance at redemption if the manager changes

If Kightly signs then no need for the Scottish attacking midfielder (Forrester?), but I sincerely hope we are still in for the (or another) centre back.

I'd be a bit concerned if we had Kightly at RM with Demetriou behind him. We'd be great going forward but compared to having Will Atkinson in there, we'd surely get ripped apart down the right wing at times ?!
