I don't want to be negative or "get down" on the man ..... but I am still hunting for an explanation as to why the player has had so many clubs. Going out on loan suggests that he wasn't able to get into the first team (and that can happen if another player comes in and plays extremely well) but then again he moves on really quite regularly.

Of course I will be shouting encouragement once he is wearing the blue shirt (or yellow, pink, white, pale blue or red in recent years) and I only hope that once again Sturrock has unearthed another gem ......... but at the moment I'm still left scratching my head.

Years Team Apps† (Gls)†
2003–2007 Sheffield United 1 (0)
2004 → Boston United (loan) 7 (1)
2005 → Stockport County (loan) 14 (1)
2005–2006 → Chesterfield (loan) 22 (1)
2006 → Chesterfield (loan) 15 (3)
2006–2007 → Chesterfield (loan) 25 (3)
2007 → Scunthorpe United (loan) 13 (0)
2007–2009 Scunthorpe United 53 (3)
2009–2011 Carlisle United 35 (2)
2011 → Morecambe (loan) 21 (2)
2011–2012 Walsall 34 (2

Think Wiki makes it seem like he has had more clubs that he actually has had. Must have something about him if Chesterfield got him on loan 3 times, then when we went to Scunthorpe he signed on there for a couple of years. Also believe that at the time he was at Sheffield United, they were knocking on the door of the Premiership, so no surprise he didn't get into that squad.

Yes, that makes some sense - I am no longer scratching my head .......... but not 100% convinced since he only stayed at Walsall for 1 season ........... but as I said, come the start of the season etcetera, he will get my full support.

Still played 34 times in one season.

Id be more concerned if he was there a year and played 4 times.

No point trying to make judgements based on those stats, just need to wait till we seem him play.

The following was taken from Wikipedia a few minutes ago, aplos if someone's already posted this...loving the description they give us. Or is that just a *iss take!

Hurst was released by Carlisle United in May 2011.[SUP][4][/SUP] On 28 June 2011, Hurst signed for Walsall FC.[SUP][citation needed][/SUP] Hurst was released by Walsall on 9 May 2012.

Kevan has agreed personal terms with the great Southend United and will sign subject to a medical.
