Oh dear. In which case I propose only people who have played football to a decent level be allowed to contribute to the Pringello Index. No-one allowed who has played lower than semi-pro level at least.

Well obviously that isn't what I meant Napster. I can see how my statement could be blown out of proportion.
Surely 90% of people who watch football have played football at any kind of level at any age? Maybe we should have a poll for that actually I'd be interested! It's easier to read the game if you play football. Sure you can have the odd few people who just can tell who is a good player.
I don't mean to offend anyone in any of my posts!

I'm not going to start quoting everyone here.

My opinion is, if you haven't played football I really have no idea at all in how you can analyse a game of football let alone criticise a footballer who is playing in the football league.

Love it. Another pundit that believes football is akin to rocket science. The view from the terrace/stands is often better than from the dugout and fans are not all mugs. Supporters can see ability and have a good grasp of tactics.

Lawrie McMenemy MBE (born Gateshead, 26 July 1936) is a retired English football coach, best known for his spell as manager of Southampton Football Club. Lawrie McMenemy is rated in the Guinness Book of Records as one of the twenty most successful managers in post-war English football. Lawrie never played a league game but few would doubt his footballing nous.

Half the criticism that Blair gets is because of the perception that he only gets a game because he's the manager's son. And as for the implied negativity about Tilson, how many other managers can have taken a Club down two divisions in three years and the fanbase decide to buy him a present? Tilly is a Legend, he'll always be a legend. Don't re-write history.
2 divisions in 4 seasons actually. It's starting to **** me off, that this 2 relegations in 3 seasons is being taken as gospel. BTW that's not a dig at you personally Beefy, more a generalisation...

I'm pretty sure Arsene Wenger didn't play to a particularly high level, 12 professional appearances according to Wiki.

He still played football though! I've never played professionally! But I still know a lot about football (some may disagree ;) )

Its not the odd few who can spot a good player. Huge amounts of people can whether they have played the game or not. I have no doubt that some of the worlds greatest footballing minds have never been employed in the game. The fans often are far more clued up than given credit for. Some spoil their rep by spouting rubbish based on emotion/frustration but by and large they know whats what.

I said three years not three seasons. We were relegated in May 2007 and May 2010.

I think people are missing my point, sorry for not being clear enough, If you have played/play football at any level it is easier for you to analyse/read the game.

No one is missing your point. They're just disagreeing with it because it's incorrect, arrogant and insulting.

Although we all have an opinion on Blair Sturrocks abilities, it seems that we all agree that he is not a regular goalscorer (his record proves that) Given that we need at least 70 goals in a season to achieve a top seven spot, who on earth is going to score these goals?!
As well as Sturrock, we have four other strikers on our books, Paterson, Corr, Spencer and Crawford (out on loan). It is pretty worrying when working out our striking capabilities this season!
At least the back four looks reasonably solid and the system we play means that we will probably not conceed too many. I predict a position of 12th to 15th by the end of the season. (Unless we get a decent striker in on loan)
Who would of thought we would be in this state just twelve months ago?

IMO he's rubbish, but then I also think most of the players are already being highly overrated on here and nothing I have seen so far changes that opinion.

agreed some players i belive IMO have been pony. but sturrock by miles is the biggest pony player>

I have used the word pony to not affend as much as the word i think sturrock is

At last, somebody that understands the importance of goals and a goalscorer.(Did you used to play football?). Forget that back to goal nonsense. We need a Theo Robinson type that will burst through the defence, on to balls played through or over the top.

Maybe Theo Robinson? He wasn't even on the bench at the weekend. Scored 17 last year but doesn't look to have any future at Huddersfield.

Yes, he scored 17, but didn't even start in half the games for Udders. Unfortunately, he wouldn't come back here because of the lower division and the new wage structure.

And has history with a certain ex manager and so, from what I hear, that would no doubt cause issues with the new incumbent...

Please either actually say something or don't say anything at all. What is anyone supposed to make of that post?!

Yet we look far better than we did last year when Ive been.

We may lack individual stars but our defence is far better as a unit than it has been in a long time and our midfield couldnt have been any worse than last year.
