Well, on the performances I have seen, I am more than happy to have Sturrock Jr in the side. He has a good footballing brain, plays with intelligence, he runs and runs, I havent yet seen him shirk a challenge and he's as tough as old boots. He is doing exactly what he is supposed to be doing, causing trouble for defences and opening up space for others to exploit.

I dont care if Blair isnt a 30 goal a season player - he doesnt have to be! And I also dont care that his Dad is the manager. It really doesnt make any difference!

He works very well in a 4-3-3 formation with speedy wide players and midfield supporting the lone front man (not a striker). He doesn't work as well in a 4-4-2 alongside a targetman such as Corr.

Blair played very much in a Barney role but without the end product. He was holding the ball up brilliantly, looking for passes and playing others in. Very well done

I had a chat with him at the ''meet the players'' do, and he is more than happy in this role, but just wants people to realise what he brings...

Also stated that he is working on his fitness.

So I for one, am happy he is he...as he prepared to put heart and soul into the club, and that's enough for me...

I think it's about time this thread was put to bed, to be honest... Those who have actually seen him play on a few occasions pay testament to what he brings to the squad, the way he fits into Sturrock's tactic and how fully committed he is. Threads like these, intentionally targeting an individual, serve no benefit. I'm all for freedom of speach and people expressing their opinions (after all, strikers who aren't going to get 20 goals will always split opinion), but openly castigating a player with no basis isn't helping anybody...
