I think a manager needs to take a longer term approach than just the next match.

As established first team players who are under contract for the next year and a bit we're going to have somewhere around a quarter of a million invested in Prosser and Corr. We shouldn't be damaging that investment by letting them fester in the reserves (oops, we don't even have a reserve team) whilst we provide first team football to some mercenary. We need to involve them and if we don't think they are good enough we need to off-load them.

There was a lot of talk about team spirit earlier this season (basically until we signed a whole loads of loanees). You don't want to have unhappy players sitting around unsettling players who are otherwise content and established, proven first team players who have done the business for you tend to be unhappy when not getting games (and if they're just happy pocketing their cheque you want shot of them anyway). Being kept out of the side by someone who doesn't even have a future at the club must be particularly demoralising. It suggests your manager doesn't have trust in you. Whilst you may not put them in the starting line-up straight away, the manager should be involving them off the bench and looking to work them back into the team as soon as possible.

The manager needs to think not just about the next match, but the matches after that as well. It's not worth losing the confidence and trust of a permanent member of your squad for a loanee who is here today, gone tomorrow. However I suspect I'm in a minority on this point as I got shouted down last time I suggested this.

Best thing for morale will likely be promotion. Best way to be promoted is to play your strongest side.

Mercenaries like Devitte, Assombalonga and Federici have done well for the club and, to be honest, have livened up what otherwise could have been flat seasons. We didn't get promoted with any of those players, of course, but in our promotion seasons we've tended not to need to patch the side up like we have this year.

Would keep Corr on bench as we have with Prosser - unfortunate for them (particularly Prosser) but the club and results come first

As many of us fully expected Barnard has looked far more effective alongside a pacey strike partner. He doesn't deserve to be dropped and should start with Loza at Cheltenham.

Know I'm in the minority but for me Barnard has been relatively ineffective. I know if I were a centre half I would least like to play against Corr so he would be my selection instead of Barnard.

This all day long,

Corr will rough up the defenders allowing Loza to bomb forward,Barney for me has done nothing in particular and just the penalty to his name.

I disagree, Barney has drawn defenders in a way Corr doesn't, and created space for Loza. Barney to start alongside him all day long for me. It's about time Corr learnt to control himself on the pitch, and this is a good learning curve for him. Pross had more cause to feel aggrieved at not getting straight back into the team.

If I were a league 2 defender and had too choose who I could play against Barney would be my pick every time.

I think maybe you should wait and see how he and his new strike partner develop their partnership. So far it has yielded 6 points and a play-off position again. I think Barney has re-discovered his appetite for the game.

I guess it depends on what type of defender you are. There are many big slow lumps in League 2 who would much rather be up against Corr.

My worry with playing Corr is that we could becom very predictable with the majority of balls going to Corr with Loza having to play close to him to pick up the loose balls.

Barnard and Loza are able to stretch the defence the much more and keep them on thier toes as there is far less predictabilty about who is going to receive the ball.

If the above is not working I would bring Corr on for the last 30 minutes. It is no as if we were prolific when Corr was starting and don't forget he was only a sub in the game in which he got sent off

Just like he did for the majority of 13 long, dreary games - without a win!
No way should we change a side that has won two on the bounce. What on earth has Barry Corr done to be selected?

I am not a Corr admirer in any shape or form,He as the lone target is bad very bad,But I feel with Loza it could be fruitful pairing up as long at its 442.

Defo not Corr as the lone ranger though.

Which he did playing as a loan striker.

Personally dont think he should start, but definitely a good option to have when you need a different option to Barnard/Loza.

Pretty long loan, I thought he was on a permanent contract, shows what I know!
