Battrick - OD Match 12

All about Saj today. Seamers still struggling big time and this is the biggest total we've conceded in FC all season other than the one where we bowled with our batsmen.

End of Over 76 (Maiden). Lenzie XI: 179-5, runrate=2.36
Sajjad 18-5-38-4
Rosenior* 31 (67 balls)
Crabb 0 (8 balls)

Last Wicket: Holly c. Cook b. Sajjad 0 (FOW: 169/5)
The 1st proper day's cricket you've had in ages :)

The 1st proper day's cricket you've had in ages :)
Tell me about it, this doesn't happen to me! Must be the match engine blah blah blah....

End of Over 91 (Maiden). Lenzie XI: 219-5, runrate=2.41
Horrigan 21-10-40-0
Crabb* 16 (56 balls)
Rosenior 53 (109 balls)

Last Wicket: Holly c. Cook b. Sajjad 0 (FOW: 169/5)

Can I sub in Suthers?

Not a good day to be a batsman at my ground, 20 wickets likely to fall in a day.

End of Over 42 (Maiden). Southend United: 77-8, runrate=1.83
Trail by 85 runs. (Royal Bruisers 162-10)
Mcsporran 12-6-13-2
Barrowdale* 8 (40 balls)
Goodfellow 0 (2 balls)

Last Wicket: Ryan b. Mcsporran 0 (FOW: 77/8)

Should pick up maximum batting points, then it's just a question of how many I get before his Sensational Top Order gets to work on my bowlers

End of Over 94 (5 runs). BATTY SHRIMPERS: 336-5, runrate=3.57
Blezard 18-0-106-0
Curle* 80 (121 balls)

Last Wicket: Philip c. Jervis b. Semple 97 (FOW: 376/3)

Oooh, that's better!

101.1 W Cook to Rosenior
Rosenior shuffles across his stumps to a ball of fullish length from Cook. Trapped plumb in front.

End of Over 101 (Maiden). Lenzie XI: 228-7, runrate=2.26
Mushtaq 23-9-45-3
Rosenior* 56 (140 balls)
Eagles 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Casey c. Askew b. Mushtaq 0 (FOW: 228/7)

100.6 W Mushtaq to Casey
Great reaction catch by Askew, taking a ball flicked down leg side at full stretch.
100.5 W Mushtaq to Crabb
Got him! Unlucky for Crabb, he played on. But full credit to Mushtaq, tempted him into a loose shot, thick inside edge and the stumps are in a right mess.

Reserves bowled them out for 105, currently 169-0. Will make my declaration target much larger tonight as I'm at home.

I've a hard decision with my next bowler purchase. The player below is better (and currently 1million cheaper) than my remarkable/feeble target, however I have 2 spinners already. Is it better to buy the RFM instead (who is 22) to bring a better balance or play 3 spinners?

I'm more tempted to get the fella below because he's already miles better and I'll be here to bid on him.

I realise skills-wise it's an easy decision, but it's the 3 spinners thing I'm concerned about.

And that's it for the days play. Join us again tomorrow for more ball by ball coverage.

Still not sure what to do! Might declare now, bowl them out tomorrow and get the PFL saves!

Kev

PS Just noticed nearly got £100,000 for today's play! Highest before that was £85000 (which came last tuesday) and the next day just got £72,000! Will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow on the crowd front!

Apols with the thread title - a decent day for me - bowled them out for 269 and have made 198-1 so far in reply - two batting trainees currently having fun. We're tonking along at over 6 an over - not much batting past six but I'll lower declaration figure to around 500 in an attempt to skittle them out and save a day (I'm away). I may need one bowler for OD and I'm certainly using at least 3 of the batsmen. Not going to stop relegation but i'll be happy if I can finish 6th.

Ended on 367-6, set declaration as 500 but don't think I'll get there. Forecast Cloudy and Humid weather has been replaced with Sunny which is a bit of a pain. I can feel some leather chasing coming on for my boys when we have a bowl.

Mrs BB ended up 376-4, declaration set as 500 I believe.

Got out their best batman, shortly followed by another

Chaos in my game, we lose 7 wickets for about 40 runs this morning, then take 2 of theirs whilst getting carted about. missed the 5th batting point, which is VERY annoying.
