Barcelona - Football and Holiday

We bought a T-10 each (i realise you can pass it back, but we knew were going to be using the Metro a lot), and used 9 trips on both, so for €9.45 just over a euro a trip, absolute bargain!

I loved the fact the train is counted down to the second, and it has lights underneatht the stops on the map on the train so you can see what stops have been done, what is next etc!

Sorry to be pedantic but it's actually called a T1(1 zone) or T(argeta)1(uno)in Spanish, which as you say, is valid for 10 rides.I'm not sure if a T-10 exists but I doubt it.I use a T2(2 zones) from Sant Cugat into Barcelona and I believe the cards go up to 5/6 for those living even further out in the sticks than we do.

i have the ticket in my wallet still

:flamer:

What you have in your wallet is a T1 card (Valid for 10 rides in Zone 1).As I said it's called a Tarjeta uno.

Davros - you clearly have a T1 not a T10. More evidence coming up !!

Nope you're wrong.

Not about this I'm not.Don't be ridiculous.:nope:

http://www.barcelona-tourist-guide.com/en/transport/barcelona-metro.html#metroticket

This website calls it a T-10 also

Having checked the contents of my wallet I can confirm I am correct. Do you require photographic evidence!!

Just because locals refer to something as something, doesn't mean it is correct. A £20 note is still a £20 note, even if many people call it a 'score'

For what its worth, i am still carrying my T-10 ticket around in my wallet if anyone wants some proof in the Spread on Saturday... just incase i'm lying :winking:

We're all being ridiculous...

You do have the wrong ticket if you want to travel anywhere outside the centre.Ask Shrimpero,he was fined quite heavily, a few years ago, for using a T1 card to travel in Zone 2.:zzzzz:
In the last couple of years I've travelled around St.Petersberg,Moscow,Vienna,Prague and Budapest, using their superb public transport facilities, each time.I wouldn't dream of telling the locals what their tickets are called though.Clearly,Brit.tourists who've just spent a weekend in the place they're visiting, know better than the locals, however.:whistling:

Just out of interest, if you had a season ticket at Roots Hall, would you tell your mates you had a 'Season Ticket' or a 'Seat 43, Row R, Block F' ticket?

Ticket Office: "Hello, Roots Hall Ticket Office"

BarnaBlue: "Yes, i would like a Seat 43, Row R, Block F ticket please"

Ticket Office: "is that the seat you would like to sit in sir"

BarnaBlue: "yes its the ticket i want please"

Ticket office: "and would you like a ticket for the game sir, or a season ticket"

BarnaBlue: "I'd like a seat 43, Row R, Block F ticket please"

Ticket office: "yes we have established where you would like to sit, but would you like a ticket for the game or for the season?"

BarnaBlue: "I'd like a seat 43, Row R, Block F ticket for many games please, many many games"

Ticket Office: "So you require a season ticket sir?"

BarnaBlue: "Well, i can see you offer a so called 'Season Ticket' on your website, but no, i must insist on a Seat 43, Row R, Block F ticket for many many games please"

and so on... :headbang:

Either a single zone 1 ticket or a T-10(10 rides)Zona 1 card. :whistling:
Surely even you can see the difference between "una tarjeta de diez de una zona" o "una tarjeta de diez de dos zonas?"
Barna - I doubt T10 cards even exist !!!! #barnabluegetsitwrongagain

I'm not after travel advice! But any tips on what to see and where to eat in Barcelona? Staying close to Los Ramblas, going this Friday for 2 nights. Thanks in advance - and I repeat don't need any advice on what ticket I need for public transport!

The Nou Camp, the Magical Fountain, The Sagrada Familia and the Olympic park... they're my recommendations anyway. As for food, that would depend on your budget, but as a rule of thumb, i would eat away from Las Ramblas.

We ate in a couple of nice places while there...

that one i really really recommend, and is highly ranked on TA

http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restau...taurant_Ca_L_Estevet-Barcelona_Catalonia.html - that one not as highly ranked, but was nice, plus apparently Lineker and Maradona used to dine there often

This place at the bottom of Las Ramlas(near the Boqueria market)is excellent and reasonably priced. Not far away from The Quiet Man pub either.http://barcelona.salir.com/the_quiet_man
Espanyol are at home this weekend(against Athletic Bilbao at 12.am on Sunday) so there's a game worth seeing.:smiles:
