Barcelona - Football and Holiday

The General

The Mouse (*)
Me and Em looking to go to Barcelona on the w/c Mon 9th April for anything upto a week and it appears that Barca are at home to Getafe on the Weds of that week!! (touch!)

Is there official site the best place to get tickets and if so - where would you suggest sitting?! I'd like to sit at the very top - but im a bit dubious to how much of the actually game you can see so any advice would be great!

Also looking for some accommodation advice so any tips/links etc... would be great as i hate the holiday booking/looking process.

Cheers

Watching the game fromthe third tier(the top one)is like watching a match from a plane.Woudn't bother if I were you.

When i went you had to be a Spanish resident to get tickets, we got them through a stag company, decent seats as well not high up in the gods.

Had a look on the Barca site and a fair few tickets left - plus there is a system where seaso's can sell their tickets too so the a crop up at anytime! Thought that might be the case with the top tier - looks impressive on TV but like you say, i didn't think you'd be able to see much.

Totally agree. Went to Barca vs chelsea a few years ago and the top tier is too high. We got tickets in the street altough in fairness it was a big clash.

Hotel wise I always find Easyjet ok for cheapo hotels...

Did this about 10 years back when I took me Dad for a 'his 70th/my 40th' treat.

Last thing my Mum said was 'Make sure you look after your Dad'.

Dad got mugged whilst we were out there.

Mentioned to Mum the other day that we had an 80/50 milestone coming up next year. 'He's not going' was the sharp reply.

Take care.

The system you're talking about is run by La Caixa.http://www.servicaixa.com/nav/es/deportes/index.html?loce=es-home-header_menu-5
It works well(especially in the week or so before the game)but you'd need a Spanish credit card to use it.

Last time I went to Barcelona I was manhandled by a big black Momma of a prostitute.

Only ten Euros.:winking:

we're going to Barca a week after you (i assume you took full advantage of the early Southend fares as well!), and are staying here...

http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_...ws-Hotel_Sant_Antoni-Barcelona_Catalonia.html

was £114 for two nights, and is fairly central looking, and near a 'tube' station, although i'm sure someone who is better travelled will tell me it is a sh*thole in the middle of nowhere!

I used to work in a Language School in Consejo de Ciento(near the Paseo de Gracia metro station).Don't know the hotel but as you say it's fairly central.

I've been down Las Ramblas before... there must be better parts of Barcelona surely!

Try Pedrables on your next visit. Some of the properties there are worth nearly as much as those in Bishops Avenue(aka millionaires row in Hampstead).

There seems to be a lack of people who've been to Barcelona ... c'mon chaps give me some been there / done it / got the t-shirt advice! (accomodation wise!)

Cheers for football advice - folks are out in Spain at the moment, so might get them on the case.
