Post-Match Thread and Ratings Altrincham 2-0 Southend United

Can they afford to see us relegated - as the way it's going, they could be the only 2 options!!!
Some harsh questions and lessons for COSU to wrestle with so early on in their tenure, end of the day the lifeblood of the club is the fans.

Relegation will almost inevitably lead to lower crowds and an unwelcome drop in revenue. Will I be spending money to watch NLS week in week out? Probably not, especially as I'm moving into the adult price bracket starting next year. Sure many would be the same.

If the current management team show no sign of turning it around, it would be hugely expensive to replace them. But the costs of relegation will surely be worse?

Glad we're no longer under the chairmanship of football's very own Kim Jong Un, but there's going to be some difficult decisions and conversations in that slightly crowded boardroom over the coming weeks and months.

Over to you COSU.

Their Commentators were quite good from what I heard in the end as for 20 minutes on good old Dazn I had the failing picture alongside a bizarre double commentary that I had to mute

Thought it was ironic when they kind of referenced us an elderly side compared to their younger outfit. Referencing the aged Moncur, Miley, Bridge, Ralph even Husin and Bonne of whom they said they didnt think they mentioned once as they hadnt seen him do anything

Having 7 more in their squad probably helps over time and a goodly number of them from lower league sides

Kev on the radiogram takes no blame, he thinks the tactics are ok and we are a good team at times. IMO that does not answer why we cannot score goals and why our defence is rubbish.
Brains of a field mouse, utter clueless! Never did enjoy his playing style and his management no different!!

They won’t. Kev has 2-3 years left on his contract (which was only renewed recently) I wonder if COSU have the money to even consider sacking Kev.
No chance. And don’t forget all the people on here claiming to want sustainability and mid table this season was ok. Build sustainably. Well this is what that can look like. If we want to accelerate the process then that takes £££. Otherwise take our chances this season build for next. Note one of the issues stated for the difficulty bringing the right people in was the difficulties in getting “value”- that’s not so difficult to decode but again we want sustainability?

I think we would find keeping all the same musicians and changing the conductor would not be the sunlit uplands we might hope for. Luckily COSU is full of people who understand that and won’t be subject to the very short-termism they said they so reject.

If the current performance levels are maintained, maybe they'll have to rethink that, as gates drop and that affects the sunny uplands of financial sustainability.

Let’s hope they don’t charge us £400 for a season ticket in NLS next season.
And here is the problem having said we want sustainability, actually we think with our crowds and season ticket prices we should dine on caviar not bread and dripping. This is a problem for COSU because we will all forget the sustainability bit very quickly, and the fact a number of other clubs spend more despite their gates and season ticket prices (because they are funded unsustainably by wealthy owners). Regrettably….its just not fair….

On an unrelated note it was nice to have competent adult officials who just got on with their jobs without wanting to be the centre of attention. 4th official went completely unnoticed by us and the mgt teams in equal measure, assistant referees assisting and flagging for fouls, and just boring unfussy competent refereeing..

If the musicians are the issue in this case, then we might do well to question the system behind acquiring them
