Advice on where to live in Essex?????

Hockley's nice, just don't stray too close to Rochford... Slightly resembles a Kenyan shanty town at times.
Agree with both - I went to school in Hockley and lived in Rochford (well Ashingdon) up till I was 15. Hockley is nice and quiet, but full of absolute idiots - snobby, stupid etc if the parents of the people at my school are anything to go by.

Rochford is disgusting - the Square must be one of the most depressing places in the world, especially any time after 5pm.

How old are you now??

Any time i go back i try to get to Chelmsford for a bit and see my old stomping ground...seems to have come along quite nicely since i lived there - maybe go and have a look around Ricey-land in Boreham, as at least you'd be close to the town, the airport, and especially Southend :)

Used to play some footie matches against Danbury and Witham - they were nice too back then - anyone know anything about them now?

Crime is on the up here so dont even consider it.....on the local news website the other week someone had a garden table and chairs worth £30 stolen.....disgraceful....

its bound to put insurance premiums up now!!! Grrrrr

I've only been the once - last autumn - but I thought it was ok!

Still, who am I to talk about Essex, I chose to leave years ago and won't be coming back in a hurry.

Its funny how people have totally different views....I really miss Essex, sounds odd if you have never moved away from the place, maybe it is because of where i live.. and feel completely detached from my family, friends and the Blues.

Ditto!
Congratulations, Aberdeen, from an envious exile!

Just have a really amazing and accommodating wife mate....her view is that if it makes me happy then it makes her happy and she is willing to up root from her family and friends and start a new life back in Essex.
