2022-23 Season Kit - (H/A)

Which poses the question, how do the squad names and numbers get added. Interestingly last Saturday's shirts were minus names and numbers. On a personal note, this was a complete pain in the arse for me as I was on stage 1 of trying to recognise who's who this season with the large churn we have had. I suppose with no names or numbers this season we could be the 'Who are ya' team.

Is it a NL requirement?

BBC News - Football kit sales delayed as supply chain issues hit clubs

Club has done well to launch the kit and to have made some available for sale. Looks like there are major supply issues across all clubs. Stockport have issues with the kit not being available until the end of November

The Kitman has his own heat press at B&L and he takes care of all team printing requirements.

Numbers were missing from the shirts as the NL haven’t sent the numbers out to the club yet.

Probably a stupid question mate, but why do the NL have to provide the numbers? or is it to do with registering the players against a certain number?

The shirt numbers and letters are the same design across all clubs, rather than being bespoke or provided by the manufacturer.

Interestingly (or not), the numbers were on the players’ shorts on Saturday.

Probably a bit like Saturday afternoon amateur football. You grabbed the first pair that fitted and wore those. Latecomers got the small sizes, hence Callum Powell's pair on Saturday. Players with fat arses in my old team always got there early.

Luke the kitman posted that the new numbers haven’t arrived from the league as yet and the ones on the shorts were leftovers from last season.

A question for anyone who hasl ast season's and this season's, how do sizes compare to last season's shirt? I'm a medium normally and still had a medium last year which fitted fine.

I noticed on the online shop medium was the smallest adult size listed!

Interesting piece on BBC Breakfast this morning about kit supply chain issues - fewer than half of Prem and EFL clubs have both home and away kits available for fans to buy. Stockport fans have been told they won’t be able to buy replica kits until November!

Not a surprise. Chinese production was pretty much non-existent first quarter as they were back in lockdown. There's an incredible backlog

A small is definitely small men's size, it's the same size as all my other shirts which are small men's. For some reason it's listed under junior sizes. Oh well I saved a fiver 😂

At 5 foot 7 and healthy weight I usually fit into XS men/Small men, so nothing new here with Macron sizing. I actually thought the fit was quite relaxed compared to some Nike and Adidas shirts I have.

Also the shirt has really grown on me, looks classy in natural lighting. One of those cases where a kit release photoshoot can enhance details in the wrong ways.

I'm 6' and 95.8kgs and normally an XL in most shops. Last season I bought a travel shirt from the shop and needed a XXXL to get a comfortable fit. I also got the commemorative sky blue shirt from the club and this, too, was XXXL. This season's shirt has required me to go up another size to XXXXL.

I suspect the reason some people are finding the shirts are too tight compared to the sizes you'd buy for day to day clothes is because, unless you buy slim fit clothes, when you buy normal t-shirts they are normally designed to hang loosely (which means if you're a bit larger than the designer intended it'll still fit, it just might show more of your body shape).

Football kits on the other hand are designed to fit tightly to your body these days, and they're designed for the bodies of people that play football regularly, not the average man on the street. That means if you're a bit bigger than the designer intended (a physically fit footballer) then it isn't going to fit unless you go a size or two up.

Edit: I was basing this off similar complaints when we were with Nike and Hummel but based on the replies it sounds like Macron genuinely are on the smaller side.
