I think it was your certainty about this players ability to play Football, that drew the response. You may well be right, but give the poor sod a chance to prove the doubters wrong first.

Or at least be a little bit constructive. Explain, using diagrams if necessary, why you believe this gentleman is poo. Then and only then can we spend eight pages disagreeing with you.

Just read that Anthony Grant has submitted a transfer request at Port Vale...

Should we show an interest?

I wouldn't mind him returning to us generally speaking.

Although he has submitted a transfer request, he is still under contract, so Port Vale will command a fee. How much? who knows?
One way to took at it could be it would be smallish fee, as he has just made a very obvious blunt statement to Port Vale stating he no longer wants to play for them by personally handing in his transfer request. So it would make sense to ship him out as soon as possible to any bidder, rather than being picky about a particular buying club & still pay him his wages.
The other way to look at it, would be a larger club (such as Coventry or Sheffield Utd for example) have already approached him, and are willing to pay a lot more for his services. If this is the case, I dont think we would be in the running.

The other other concern could be that he turns out to be our "new Deegan" with regards to card counts and suspensions.
Last season he picked up 10 yellows before the new year (got suspended for 2 games) and managed to make it 15 yellow cards (therefore, missed the last 3 games of the season).

I thought it before the injuries, but now the injuries have occurred, we really need another center midfielder. To think we were looking to replace Deegan with Moussa but that fell through, there's been no real threat of a different replacement since. Even Brown said that he would sign another three players, two CB's and another striker. No mention of a CM. We need the three listed but also another CM, let's see what happens.

Chris Herd is available after cancelling his contract with Perth Glory. Played at Chesterfield last season and could certainly be worth a punt.

Yes- when I said CM is not a priority what I meant was CM is a priority..

Shortly before Simon Cox signed we heard that the club were really close to signing one striker and even close on another. Clearly Cox was one of the strikers. Has it been said who the other one was?

I'm assuming that was the deal to sign Tyrone Barnett....which we then pulled out of as soon Cox agreed to sign on.

Premiership midfielder likely to sign in loan possibly tomorrow.

Is that a midfielder that has played for a Premiership club or is that a player who is on the books at a Premiership club (along with 30 others) and the closest they have come to playing for "their club" is to go on the tour of the ground ................. :'(

What with all these transfer rumours and sound bites from the Echo, I've lost all track of what positions Phil is looking to bolster?

Is it?:
1. A central / defensive midfielder
2. An Attacking Midfielder
3. A defender
