20:20 World Cup

Now to beat the Aussies tommorow and put them out. That'd leave us, SA and New Zealand(?) as the only realistic contenders.

I take it Ireland lost to Scotland in qualifying or doesn't it work like that?

Apparently there was a round robin tournament in jan/feb involving Bermuda, Ireland, Kenya, Scotland, Holland and Canada. Two teams who topped the tournament group went through to the Twenty20 WC - With Kenya beating Scotland to finish top...Not sure how Ireland did in this, but doesn't say anything about Scotland beating them or anything

What about India?!

Don't fancy India, although they've improved by dropping Tendulkar, Ganguly and Dravid, although Dravid remains a class act.

Upthappa is probably their key man, but their bowlers need to fire. Pathan has been lacking form, but offers a bit of balance to their line-up. not sure why Chawla isn't there and I reckon they are another bowler short (I still dont' rate Agarakar).

I'd instead give Sri Lanka a mention. They weren't world cup finalists by fluke. In Murali and Malinga they have two of the world's best bowlers IMHO. Jayasuirya is a crafty batsman, Jawayardene is a class, class act and Sangakarra is the best keeper-batsman in the world by a country mile. The rest of their team is young and enthusiastic, and field well.

Pakistan, as ever, could win it or as easily impode, but after Sri lanka you could make an argument for Bangladesh to be, on non-bouncy pitches, the second best sub-continent limited overs team. They field well, have some sloggers who can come off and are a far tougher proposition than many give them credit for.

Sri Lanka following a record 20/20 score could be a good call.

i've no idea what happens if we lose (NRRs cant really be worked out on the fly) and so we need to post a decent score... come on KP!

I think the England NRR from the game against Zim should be enough to take them through, unless of course the convicts give us a right chasing.

KP out and 94-5. Will do well to post 160 for them to chase. Knowing the Aussies they will no exactly how many overs they will need to get the runs in to knock us out on NRR, and out we will go.
