Woman in Sudan...

How is calling me a "******" contraversial? It's childish and pathetic ....

Listen up knobby...

We will never agree on politics, but i must admit... reading some of your post's at times, is like sitting next to that prick at school who always **** licked the teacher and whined and moaned with a chip on their shoulder!

What i can't understand is.. you won't condemn these people will you?

Islam : the faith of peace and love..

well from what i see in some of these countries, it's more like the religion of death and war... People claim this is a peaceful religion! I'm yet to see proof of this.. This isn't racism, this is an opinion.. And i welcome Mk your response, and proof if any, of the above statements being false.

I fail to see anywhere, where people in civilised countries, run around waving machetes calling for people to be executed... well apart from manchester! Why are these people ****ing animals? (not muslims) but these rebels and numpties in sudan.. and anywhere, where they proclaim death to us

It's all so ****ing silly, isn't it? Why can't we all just get along, eh? And that includes you, Cockles and MK.

MK, I want you to read The Sun for a week.

Cockles, you're on Guardian detail.

In the meantime, shall we all agree that the Scouser was bit ****ing daft calling the bear what she called it? I mean, where was she for those cartoon riots a couple of years ago? Has she read a paper in the last few years? You can't say anything to those short-tempered, stone-age misogynists these days.

Oops....

*hides behind the sofa*

We certainly cant agree, as she didnt call the bear ''Mohammed''... her class of 6-7 year olds did (accompanied with consultation with the childrens parents).
Apparantly most Sudanese boys have the name Mohammed somewhere in their title so it was odds on favorite.
Now one thing that has been agreed by all, is that the law the Sudanese have is stupid, so the sensible solution should be to let her go...kick her out the country if must, and then amend the law.
Sadly this has not happened, an yet again Islam (Sudan is an Islamist state)has failed to keep its house in order in the same way it did over 9/11 and the other atrocities.
I dont believe that you have to be right wing to be offended by the way certain segments of the Muslim community has conducted itself of late.
When was the last time the Buddhists / Hindhus / christians got on there high horse about naming a teddy bear, so much so that at least 1000 took to the street demanding a woman be whipped?
We as the west are bombarded by the PC brigade to be tolerant, but cannot expect to be treated the same in return.
Rather than read a newspaper, we should all read the insides of our passports where the secretary of state requires in the name of Her Majesty that we British citizens be allowed to pass freely without let or hinderance and to afford the bearer such assistance and protection as may be necessary....in my opinion the Teacher from liverpool is not being protected or receiving much assistance froom the Sudanese Authorities.

No we cant all agree. Put things into perspective here, its a toy bear and its just name.
Anyone offended by this must have nothing else to worry about. If their religion insists they should be offended, well their religion is totally ridiculous and pathetic. Callum is right about the PC brigade but the worst thing is we all sit around a put up with it.
We get Muslims over here making bombs and people dont take to the streets in protest, but they get an English person naming a Teddy Bear and there is uproar.
Get all the Brtiish people out of their country and next time they needhelp financially, tell em to go ask their Muslim friends.

I know that on the application for an American passport the applicant must agree to familiarize him or herself with the laws of any country they are going to visit, and if they break a law while abroad they will need to accept the punishment they receive. I'm not sure if this is included on the British passport application but I'd be shocked if it wasn't. American passports also include wording very similar to what you quoted from a British passport, but IMO it simply means that they desire their citizen to have access to emergency services, such as police or admittance to a hospital, if needed during their visit, it does not request that authorities turn a blind eye when a law is broken.

Most of the people on here most likely agree that the law she broke is ridiculous, but that still doesn't change the fact that she broke the law.

But as I understand it, the children named the bear and their punishment is?

Good point, I guess I'd have to know a bit more about Sudanese law to understand why she was the one punished, but it could be because she was charged with the care of the kids during school hours and she allowed it to happen, but I'm just guessing.
