Transfer news
Well, CP doesn’t normally say anything until it’s pretty much a done deal.

As I’m sure you’re aware, when CP says things like, advanced talks, or closing in, it normally means the contract has been signed already.

Or at least it has been this way in the past.

I’d imagine an announcement will come sooner rather than later

Just trying to remember how to turn on post notifications on Twitter….

I also think when goals start to dry up and players get a bit older, that instinct slowly dies, along with their confidence. The player then becomes a different player. They end up becoming more of a creator (passing the buck/responsibility) for goals and that natural nous of being in the right place at the right time, dissipates.

Dougie Freedman was a perfect example of this. He came in as finisher, and all he kept doing was refusing to shoot and kept passing it. It was so frustrating.

Bonne is the same. He doesn't look comfortable in those goal scoring positions, but looks really confident and talented when out wide being the provider. If Maher sees him in that mould, fine. If he is resigning as a goalscoring striker, I'm not so sure.

The statistics would seem to support this

Age of players at start of season in which they scored 20+ goals for us since 1990.

2010-11 Corr 25
2005-06 Eastwood 21
2004-05 Eastwood 20
2003-04 Constantine 25
1991-92 Angell 22
1990-91 Angell 21

If we extend this to 18+ goals we also get
2023-24 Cardwell 26
1999-00 Carruthers 26
1992-93 Collymore 21 (signed in November)

Stats taken from Wiki

Not the greatest CB, can be a bit error strewn but dangerous in opponents box and strong character, still just 26 years old, , bags of experience, so happy to welcome Ben back if it was him

Maybe we could capture another loanee as well
