Barrett got a ball full in the face tonight, just got up shrugged it off and carried on.

I remember the shot he took on the bo!!ocks from close range at Blackpool. Ouch!

How he got up from that and started running around, I have no idea.

What was the crowd like?

Things looked like they may boil over on a few occasions but other than in the West Stand where tbh they lost control the mounted police did a sterling job to keep the PLXI ultras safe from the marauding junior blues tifosi. Thankfully no one was hurt when that Lambretta was chucked off the South Upper either.

We weren’t certain on a couple of Southend players, and no idea on the premiership players- especially the bald unit at the back

It was an enjoyable evening and great to see so many former players, I especially loved seeing Chris Powell looking so happy after how his managerial stint ended. I hope Kev and his family had an experience they'll remember fondly.
