Hard to believe he’s 46 - looks way younger and played like he could still play a decent standard if he wanted to… all the great memories came flooding back tonight!

My first ever game with my son was Southend vs Swansea in October 2001, Maher scored 2 penalties and Darryly was in goal and looked exactly the same tonight as he did then.......I wish I did!!

Without wanting to comment too much about our current goalkeepers…Flahaven looked awesome…reminded me of how Southend have always had great goalies over the years…Sansome..Royce..Flahaven and Bentley to name a few.

Loved seeing Powell, Barrett, Gower…all would get in my best ever Southend 11
