What is hacking you off today?

Suez - The new refuse collection Co for Southend. Two weeks in now and our road has looked like a bomb site after they have collected. There is rubbish in the gutters where bags have burst and no attempt to clear it. Speed seems to be of the essence. Maybe things will improve with the introduction of the wheelie bins later this year. I've not stuck a complaint in yet to the Council as I live in hope that next week will be better. @CllrDanielCowan if you're watching, keep an eye on it mate.
I get it’s supposed to be a playful pun but imagine naming your services company a name synonymous with the word crisis.

Only a trivial matter in the scheme of things but The Guardian Quick Crossword, which has hitherto been a pleasant accompaniment to a mid morning coffee appears to have been taken over by AI,. Tenuous and often just plain wrong clues and loads of Americanisms and childish wording. To make matters worse, the moderators, or more likely bots, delete any adverse comments. The machines have taken over.

I play connections in the morning but there are a lot of Americanisms.

That said it is from the NY Times so I guess I can’t really complain.

Never been much of a crossword fan myself but I imagine this has a lot to do with the free online edition of the Grauniad's alleged popularity in the US. :Winking:

Yes that is probably the case, lots of USA oriented clues (I refuse to call it America and pointed out in the comments section that America was the name of the continent, not one country within it and of course the comment was deleted.

As I understand it Suez and Vella are branches of the same company. The street cleaning has been dreadful for years. I do our road. No other bugger will especially Southend council

I have received an email from Good Life +. I see they are a competition page but it seems a bit sketchy to me to ask me to contact them to find out what I have won! Has anyone any experience with them?

It's a legit scam type. They tell you for example you've won 100 entries into a draw for a Rolex or car for example, even though you never entered. Then they try and get you to sign up for £11.99 a Month, or VIP package of £29.99 a Month, to get you into lots of draws to win all sorts of things. They want you to contact them for their highly trained persuasive sales team to talk you into taking up a subscription.

Pretty sure one of the dogs is OCD.

It just obsesses with balls, sticks and anything else.

This is what happened when we had some plumbing done. Note the rubber chicken.

Police, the RSPCA and Basildon Council have just raided a dog breeding site on Crays Hill. They discovered 37 dead dogs, and 20 living dogs, some barely living. Apparently, it's a horror show. It beggars belief.
It beggars belief that it has taken them so long - there's been warnings about the place on our local social media group for weeks/months
