Breaking News Season ticket prices go up for 2023/24

Last year the prices were announced 12th March and the early bird cut off date was 30th April (although I believe it did get extended) so this year it is currently three weeks less, being 7th April.

Sounds like desperate for money and with only 4 home games left , one
being a possibily meaningless last game of the season

Quite frankly if the club was being funded and run properly then it wouldn’t be relying on NEXT seasons ticket money to pay current day to day liabilities anyway. Every season is the bloody same and it needs to stop.

Furthermore we were assured that working capital was injected to make sure there would be no issues over the coming months…

Don’t bite the hand that feeds you is a term Ron could certainly learn from.

Its interesting Lee. I just picked some clubs at random.

Everton have had renewals open since November

Brentford window opens in 18 days

Burnleys window for early bird actually closes end of this month

Bristol rovers window as open now

As is Boreham Woods

Whilst I get your point, lots of clubs have their renewal windows open now and who is to say what they are spending that money on?

Really can't see us being the only Club to raise prices, across the whole country. Most Clubs would have been protected from rising energy costs by contracts being signed before rates began rising steeply.

Those contracts are coming to an end and know in some cases, cost per unit has tripled. Our Village Fish and Chip shop are facing a monthly increase of around £400 in energy costs alone. Funnily enough they have increased their prices. We will find out Wednesday in the Budget, whether the Government will offer businesses more help, if they don't businesses will disappear.

As unpalatable as rising ticket prices are the Club are in no way able to absorb rising costs.

You are not lining Ron's pockets, you cannot expect any owner to subsidise a failing business to the tune of £2.4 million each year. It is just not sustainable as we are finding out

We all want a return to the EFL as soon as possible, let Tom and Co do the first part by doing their best to ensure the Club's survival.

Never posted on here before but the solution to empower the fans in this matter could be solved in the following way.

Set up a new supporters group or a collective of the existing ones.

Fans pledge to only purchase season tickets through this group.

If enough numbers could be achieved say
500 this would give this group sufficient power to approach the club with demands for change.

For example to have a representative on the board.
Maybe subsequently to insist that season tickets can only be purchased through the group thus ensuring fans representation permanently.

Just an idea but an organised group is always going to be more effective than relying on individuals.

Wish you the very best of luck going forward.

For sure other clubs will also be going cap in hand now. It’s getting towards that sort of time. But, every season we are one of the first out the blocks and let’s be real there’s not a fanbase around that’s been so poorly treated for their loyalty the last few years.

We need to do so much better on so many levels before we can justifiably throw 15-29% price hikes at our incredible fans.

Price rises aside it’s quite frankly a **** take asking for money when we can’t even be afforded proper updates on pressing matters.

I have been looking forward to my first ever season ticket as I turn 60 in July so whatever the price it's a bargain compared to match day prices I have been paying for the last 50 years ☺️

However, I think I will be hanging on to make sure that immoral, arogant, buffoon hasn't totally destroyed our club before the start of next season.

I get the outrage because season ticket prices don't equate to money invested in the club. But price wise, I think £340-380 is reasonable in this league.

Looking at 2022/23 season ticket prices at a screenshot:

Notts £320-£390
Wrexham £340 - £374
Chesterfield from £378
Woking £329
Daggers £300-£405
Halifax £349

Plus the fact every away day, we're paying nearly £20+.... I think £340 is reasonable.
I was initially surprised by how high those prices were. At Blackpool, in 2022/23 our cheapest full price season tickets were £369/409 (earlybird/full).

But of course we get a sizeable amount of TV money, which helps.

Its such a sad time. Its a double edged sword. In one hand we must make a stand against Rom and show that this situation is not acceptable, but by not renewing we hit the clubs finances further and as a result staff and players dont get paid. As a result in the summer many will probably jump ship and then we are back to square one and looking to rebuild. But unless there are clear plans in place to resolve this situation then how do we know how our money will be spent and on what. the club simply have to front this up, release a statement, talk to the supporter groups whatever and tell the fan base what is going on and happening in the immediate future. I think our average gate at home is around 5700 and we worked out last night the average away fans we take is around 644. The fans are still behind this club (players and management at least), everything is on place on the pitch and with this management to have a real go next season but matters off the pitch are set to derail this massively
Totalling disagree with the above.
We have to make sure that this is reported correctly.
Ron has it in his power to talk to fans, to tell the truth, to explain. The ball is in his court
If this was you wouldn’t you want to speak to fans, wouldn’t you want to do everything possible to make sure fans still bought tickets.
If not buying tickets hurts the club don’t let Ron blame us fans, it’s 100% on him.

If he won’t talk, won’t tell the truth that’s down to him. And I no longer buy it when he says” saying too much can have a negative impact/ confidential/ sensitive etc etc ” we are way past that now. Being honest with us has to be the number one thing now

Leedsufc "I'd be quite ****ed off if I was a Wrexham fan, paying £340 when millionaires own the club and purposely pay over the odds on players to get promotion. AND pay that **** Shaun Harvey a wage. Especially as their new stand is paid for by the levelling up fund."

I am sorry I do not understand your paragraph and who is Shaun Harvey?

Not for me. I'll pick and choose games. Very tone deaf, but fully expect that from this Club.

Not the best stadium in the World, but you can get a season ticket at Chelmsford City for £145 and they have actual infrastructure that some fans may want to make use of - you know, such as running water, toilets, a proper bar and decent food outlets.
But you don't buy a season ticket for the stadium; it's the team in it you want to see play.

Would you pay £380 per season to go and stand on the sidelines watching them on a park pitch?
I'm not even sure what the point of that question is to be honest. My point was that we buy our season ticket to watch Southend United, not to visit Roots Hall. That just happens to be the home ground.

Would you pay £145 to watch Chelmsford City play on a park pitch?

I'd love to teach you how to just press the reply button under people's posts. Try it, it's fun.

Ps, Google Shawn Harvey
