Breaking News Season ticket prices go up for 2023/24

Quite frankly if the club was being funded and run properly then it wouldn’t be relying on NEXT seasons ticket money to pay current day to day liabilities anyway. Every season is the bloody same and it needs to stop.

Furthermore we were assured that working capital was injected to make sure there would be no issues over the coming months…

Don’t bite the hand that feeds you is a term Ron could certainly learn from.

It's true that if forced to make a statement, offering clarity on a number of key points relating to embargos, staff wages, bridging loans, ect, it is highly likely RM will feed us further lies. However, I'd rather that than silence, because then what he does say, pressure can switch to the directors to hold him to account for what he publicly states. Not expecting assurances ... but you expect some engagement with his fanbase.

I'm with the supporters groups.

I see no issue with holding off on renewing a season card for at least a few weeks or until Ron engages and gives clarity on key questions.

I get the "but I don't want to lose my seat" or "but I want to watch my team" etc, but that's literally not what's being asked of you here.

Hold off on paying and see what happens...It's time to show some fan power. The more of us that hold firm, the stronger our hand. If the club (Ron) wishes to play who blinks first, then let's oblige...

Let's give it a go, hold on to your money for now, there's nothing to lose and that includes your seat.
Nothing to lose and quite a bit to gain including getting RM to stop acting like a complete an utter C.

What I will say is irrespective of peoples views on the running of the club and all the **** that has passed our way, to be honest its about time the prices have gone up. Of course I would like to pay as little as possible but lets be fair. I have just checked my purchase history on my account and it goes as far back as 13/14 season. I always go early bird. Back in that 13/14 season my full paying Adult South Upper season ticket was £350. 15/16 it rose to £370 and again in 16/17 to £390. That year was the last time it had increased and was frozen for 3 years until Covid hit. We then had relegations etc and the prices dropped. However for myself buying an early bird season ticket again for next season is still £10 cheaper than 10 years ago and think of all the things that have gone up. 10 years ago how much did a pint cost, a unit of electricity or gas, a loaf of bread or a cinema ticket etc. Cost of living has dramatically gone up, for many of us our wages have gone up and players wage demands will go up for next season.

On the other hand fans deserve better and needs more communication from the club, maybe with the increased prices the staff will be paid on time. Who knows.

Also on the season ticket price increase, is all the Ron bashing fair? this is a genuine question, who is in charge of setting out the prices, Ron or Tom Lawrence?

I think that now our plight has been widely publicised, Ron may have to be more careful about what he says. Over many years his statements fobbing us off have only really been seen by us supporters but now he has a much wider audience.

The price rises themselves seem just about reasonable to me, except 17-22 which I think has gone from £100 to £160.

As for whether I should renew, I was in 2 minds, but after reading through this thread I’m now in about 22!

I really don't think the club have any choice but to charge the maximum it thinks the market can bear.
Mad Cyril ,I don't think most SC holders have a problem with the increase , its the general lack of respect by RM for all the staff this season , he has undermined the progress on and off the field imo and owes a lot of staff an apology and a proper verifiable plan going forward.

Has this ever been the case with any club, which would include those that are being "run properly", let alone ours? It's going to built into any club's business model to use reliable sources of revenue where they exist (e.g., season ticket income, hospitality packages sold well in advance, (multi-)season long advertising deals) to pay bills and debts when they're scheduled to paid.

I can't think of an example where a club have issued a notice for season ticket sales and, as an example, gone on to say something to the effect of "the net funds received from season ticket sales will be ringfenced to primarily pay for staff and player wages in Q4 of the current calendar year."

After a season of embargo, an alienated fanbase, a possibilty of a mass exodus of staff and players in June, a stadium that is falling apart by the day, and RM increases the season ticket price. Proof if you ever needed it that RM is one seriously deranged person.
I wouldn’t say deranged more shameless and greedy.

Pretty sure we charged around that when we were pushing for the league one play offs a few seasons back.

Now for the same price you can watch an embargo'd club put unpaid players on a pitch that's below par because the ground staff aren't paid and the poor woman serving you a pint at half time can just about afford the bus ride home as she hasn't been paid for two months. Oh and you can urinate in the dark because the toilet lights don't work, find pigeon crap 10m from the food kiosk, (Tuesday last week in the East Blues/Yellows), and half the away end is condemned.

Honestly Ron, **** off.
Sums it up rather well. He expects fans to keep paying for this circus. It’s all about him and his family.
Parasitic

Without a doubt but he isn't going to be printing an apology on the season ticket renewal form.

Can see exactly how this will go.

Ron comes out with a bull**** statement in the coming few days promising everything will be fine, we will be out of the embargo in weeks, not months. Staff will be paid in full plus a bonus, we’ll be in the new stadium within 2 years and the council are being very supportive.

Most fans fall for his lies, buy their season cards and then come next season those that have renewed will be Discussing as nothing has changed.

Actions speaks louder than words now for me.
