Breaking News The Nov/Dec Embargo thread

When do you think the embargo will be cleared?

Yeah - you're missing the bit where Ron is the major creditor. Think of the companies that have gone 'bust' and then are bought back by the same owners. Although in this case it'd make no sense for Ron to put the club into administration as it 'll cause his other companies to fail.

i don't think he will get away with that ... a high profile case and with fans with good representation should prevent that ..

the football authorities can influence this - dissallowing a RM entity back into the league -

not easy and all political but fairly certain the nasty buy backs that you may have witnessed can be fought off

The Bromley match must be used as a platform to protest against Ron, a national TV audience will bring more eyes to the situation and may even convince someone to make him an offer
A 5.20pm KO on Boxing day, will probably see the lowest viewing figures for a game on BT Sport?.
Many people will be having a snooze, & others will be preparing their tea. There will be more interest in the weather than watching us, alas.

One thing I'd like to know is why it wasn't made public before the game. BBC Essex seemed to intimate that something would be made known later in the week as to player recruitment.

And several posters on here have hinted all was not well in the house of Southend.

Is there some kind of agreement that anything like an Embargo has a reporting curfew and cannot be reported 72 hours before a game or something?

Protest blah blah blah, I’m not happy, blah blah blah.

It’s not going to make Ron any more uncomfortable to leave, we can’t fund ourselves and therefore need a sugar daddy.

That’s how it ends, we find someone else to pay the current chairman off and install them who will throw money at the club for our benefit.

Say Ron leaves tomorrow and signs everything over to Stan for example. What’s the outcome, we need to ask a bank for a loan to pay staff, and do it each month, their response, either no way you have not assets or a lovely high interest rate we can’t pay.

So back to how do we going about finding someone to put their hand in their own pocket to fund us?

We have been here so many times before. We still have (in my opinion) no creditable alternative being offered to what we have now but I like the thought process about speaking to other clubs that have been in a similar situation for inspiration.

Not protesting does NOT mean you are a fan of RM. I would much prefer that energies are channelled towards encouraging the current squad. They can’t do anything about the off the field situation but they can try to do something about putting points on the board.

if the club goes into administration the fans can buy it

if the fans protest the club becomes unmanageable - the owner becomes a pariah - the value of the club deteriates

there is no club without the fans ...

you can change the chairman ... you can change ownership .. you can change managers

the value of the club is in the brand - in the support - in the fans ... in the name - in the reputation .. in the history ..

we just need an active and united fans organisation to take control ..

we have nothing to lose ..

other clubs have done this AND when a good new owner comes along the fans can sell the club to them..

I guarantee the biggest nightmare RM has is the fans getting organised ...
,
Ironically a united fan base is one thing we do not have. Incredibly (to me at least) a number of people still seriously believe RM is the only viable option and the vast majority are almost agnostic to where the club currently find themselves.

I guess the fans can continue to suck it up and stick with Ron...... sufc are in a fantastic position ?

a fans trust have successfully run several clubs ...

we could run the club far better than RM

not least because we would not be spending so much servicing debt

Ron’s group companies, which are the companies supposedly supporting SUFC stay afloat, are part of the same group of companies that RM & GK have been charged with VAT fraud? Surely there has to be a question asked regarding this by the league or something?

What the **** is some people's problem with blaming Stan Collymore? Like seriously, that man was not hired to pay the ****ing tax bills, leave him out of this embargo talk, this is one mans fault and one man only, and thats Ron Martin, so give your head a wobble because it has absolutely nothing to do with Stan.
