The EU Referendum

How are you voting?

  • Leave

    Votes: 58 56.3%
  • Remain

    Votes: 45 43.7%

  • Total voters
    103
  • Poll closed .
I'm sure it was working last week and the week before that as well - like you I don't get why so many left it to the last minute to register.
People do leave things till the last minute and if they have been promised a system to register till a certain time and date and that system fails then stands to reason you have to extend the deadline.

On the extension Michael Gove has said 'the more people who register to vote the better' - the most sensible thing I've ever heard him say.

I don't think anyone truly believes the nonsense spoken about what a catastrophe it would be if we leave. We're the fifth largest economy in the World and the 21st largest country in the World. Of course we could get through it and survive. Possibly even thrive.

It's a gamble though. We have literally no idea what would happen over the 2-5-10-20+ years following an exit because no one has bothered to tell us.

So do we know for sure what the next 2-5-10-20+ years of EU membership looks like? Of course we don't. We don't even know what the make up of the union will be at the end of that period.

There is equivalent uncertainty whether in or out.

NOW THEN, NOW THEN, ATTENTION PLEASE!!!!

I have asked about the EU's budget & accounts several times on this thread and how it has never been audited.
And also stated that is because it is a corrupt, badly run and bankrupt organisation which similar to other mafia cartels is now issuing threats.

My point is this has only had "likes" from posters in reply BUT not a whisper of comment from any of the Remainers.
C'mon Barney, A.S.S et al tell us why the central ethos/corner stone of the EU is not worthy of comment. :net:

I suspect below to be the answer.
:tumbleweed::tumbleweed::tumbleweed::tumbleweed:

I thought I'd answered this, but in case not...

I don't think anyone is claiming that the EU is perfect.

I think the EU is inefficient, wasteful with some dodgy practices.

I also think Westminster is inefficient, wasteful with some dodgy practices.

John and Tony think that Brexit would close the Irish border and lead to the break up of the UK.

Been wondering when this would become part of the discussion.

Total and utter tripe. The Leave Campaign have stated from the very start that the Ulster/Eire border would remain open. Typical bull and bollocks from Blair. Par for the course with his track record of lies and deceit.

It may not be up to the leave campaign. The Irish government may choose to close it. Even if they don't, do you think Boris and Co would keep it open to allow migrants to walk into the UK unchecked? Total and utter tripe.

If we leave the EU does that mean we have to have Barna back here?

#bigissues

No worries on that score, squire.:smiles:

(Btw,as a British passport holder I do have the automatic right of abode in the UK,whenever I might choose to exercise that right. No plans to do so though).

I've just watched Nicola Sturgeon debating the Referendum with Boris. She is a seriously powerful speaker and gave Boris a strenuous examination. "The only job you're interested in is David Cameron's". priceless. I'm moving to Scotland and voting SNP after that (not really).

Nothing more than a screeching harriden who is an annoying Jimmy Krankee wannabe. She got torn a new one on the letter that Boris read back to her. Her mates weren't much better and none of them seemed particularly united. Thought the Leave speakers seemed much more calm and resonated more with the people.

the Remain folk aren't really united - they are from a multitude of different parties whereas the Out folk are mostly the right wing of the Conservative Party and UKIP so easier to to be a united front (though the UKIP MP and the UKIP leader have fallen out again)

That's up to the Irish Govenment then, if they are allowed to make that decision for themselves. The point is, Blair was making that up as he went along, using hypothicical if you will.

Good grief. Just look at the cost of the SNP. Worse education, NHS and a ridiculous named person scheme that adds nothing to an already over bureaucratic child care system. I could go on. Judge policitians by what they do not how loudly they shout.
