Breaking News Zach Jeacock recalled by Lincoln City

The new guy is a ex Finnish international who in his last year at Bristol Rovers combined the coaching and reserve keeper role.

Answer me this. We have 5 subs and no reserve keeper. Surely to God you would register him and have him on the bench as a 6th sub. Collin gets injured 2nd minute surely he would do a better job than any of the outfield players????
We’d presumably put the youth team keeper on the bench ahead of him like we’ve done several times already this season.

Indeed if we feel he’s ready. Throwing him in and he makes a couple of howlers can be a real negative at that age. Much depends on a view how tough he is mentally. But from what you point out we must feel he’s ready. The coach it will be water off a ducks back

Anyhow whoever will do the best job- the real issue is if we have 5 subs and no keeper on the bench.

Experience is a funny word because it can be construed in so many different ways.

Is Justham just experienced because he is older, or because he’s played lots of NL games? Or is it because he has played at a higher level?

Collin has played about 80 odd league games for us at the age of 21. Many goalkeepers haven’t got anywhere near that number by 21.

Donnarumma, by the age of 21 had 215 Seria A appearances for AC, does that make him experienced?

Who is more experienced? The 30 year old with 215 Seria A appearances of the 21 year old?

You need a big slice of luck as a keeper and Jeacock is a is a good example. Was in the national league with us, pulling up no trees, and looking likely to warm the bench as Collin's understudy. Then an injury, he's re-called and ends up getting a run of games in a league 1 side - and doing fairly well by most accounts.

It's a similar thing with Dan Bentley who hasn't had a game this season - needs a bit of luck.

It looks as if Dan is currently third choice at Wolves. Probably needs to find another club
