Your standard vague, can't name names thread

As long as our kits don't look like the sheep shagger's lovely Tesco bag kit I don't care what they name the ground.

So what you are saying is that there is going to be some investment into the club, perhaps a slight re-jiggle in the boardroom but no major takeover ... ?!

Its been speculated upon that Ron has put far too much into this to walk away and not see a tidy return for his time, money and effort and that speculation seems to be bang on the money. My source was hinting towards (but didn't say in so many words) that once the move to FF was complete these men supplying the money would then buy the club. It makes sense IMO.

Everyone needs an exit strategy

we want FACTS and NAMES not I know something you don't merchants

Isn't the point of this thread to be pretty vague, and not name names?

On that basis, I heard from my Uncle who is good friends with a member of the board that Freddie Eastwood is coming back in a swap deal.....

I don't have any mor information on this one, and admit you need to take a cupful of salt with it.....But Eastwood has only made 4 appearances for Coventry this year.....And with Barnard flourishing......You just never know....

Yep my bad

You might take the **** but there are definite signs that what my source says is true.

- If strong rumours of 3-4 players coming in are true then the purse strings aren't tied. Ok they will be short term loans but as mentioned by other posters would we use all our loans up if we weren't in a position to buy in Jan? When some of the sainsburys money has come through.

- The shareholders meeting about the buying of shares is interesting too as my source hinted towards Ron selling up to the men who paid the tax bill once the move to the new stadium had been completed.

The men who paid the tax bill? So it wasn't an RM group company then?...

I have just had a very very interesting conversation with a major sponsor of the club and their boss and some others are providing the money to pay the outstanding debt. Apparentley the future of the club is extremely rosy and there is a lot more forward planning than we thought! I hate not being able to go into detail as I'm not a fan of these ambiguous threads but I have been given information in confidence, basically I'm just saying the time for worrying is over and the future is bright for Southend United.

Given the number of 'inside' info posts we get on here that are negative, it's a pleasant change to get a positive one. How disappointed will some on here be if this turns out to be correct.

......only if RM is still in control. I would feel much more confident that the Club is No 1 priority if we were taken over by the consortium mentioned. Quite honestly I dont particularly care where the Club play, as long as they have a future in the Football League, we will not be a Prem Club, even with a 22K stadium, unless an investor pumps in many, many millions. We looked at risk of losing our League status when RM took over and after 10 years not a lot has changed. Plenty of plans and promises, but nothing 'concrete' as yet. Maybe the 'takeover' talk is what is needed for the final push as it would appear that the project(and RM) is running out of steam and money

There is no doubt that RM has put a lot of effort in getting the Fossetts developement to where it is now and expanded it way beyond the original brief, so he will not step aside now. He has always looked upon this as a major investment opportunity and one thing's certain, he wont lose out whatever happens.

yet another rumour, i like good rumours tho, :) the insure n go thing is certainly beleivable, as is Ron securing the future then wanting out. Not sure about the morrisons one, arent they a predominantly northern company? Anyone have any ideas what sainsburys are gonna do with their "in town" plot? it's huge! hope its not just more flats,
im thinking some kind of record breaking acre wide laser quest myself.
