Your standard vague, can't name names thread

I have just had a very very interesting conversation with a major sponsor of the club and their boss and some others are providing the money to pay the outstanding debt. Apparentley the future of the club is extremely rosy and there is a lot more forward planning than we thought! I hate not being able to go into detail as I'm not a fan of these ambiguous threads but I have been given information in confidence, basically I'm just saying the time for worrying is over and the future is bright for Southend United.

I know the news, apparently we've sold the naming rights of the new ground to MacMart in a £443 million pound deal.

A certain Insurance company then?

So, we can now go out and spend some decent money on players in Jan?

Loan or investment?

Why would a sponsor know about the in depth finances of SUFC? Surely they just pay their money like everyone else.

Not if a certain MD of a certain Insurance company was coming back on the board?...

we want FACTS and NAMES not I know something you don't merchants

I'm not a poster who puts rumours on here, in fact I rarely post and mostly just read what everyone else has to say. I myself find the ambiguous posts irritating but I'm not going to leak anything that i've been asked not to, I am in business with these people. Basically I've been in a position where I've been very worried about the future of my club and I know I'm not the only one. I have recieved information that has relieved all my fears and I am just hoping I can go someway towards relaxing some others on here.

Could be a little money spinner for you  :puke

If they were investing money to pay a tax bill then they would need assurances that they would get a return, goes without saying really

Let's face it. Insure and Go turnover about £50m a year I believe. There is no reason why they couldnt inject a fair bit of cash into the club. Especially as Mr Lockett is a loyal Southend fan and former member of the board.

As long as the players and staff get paid all that they are owed and on time in future, we gain Barneys cofidence again to sign a new contract, and our reputation isn't too damaged that we find it even harder than normal to attract players here, oh and move to our fantastic new stadium if a few years, become a giant in Europe and have a stream of top quality youths coming through (almost there on that!) I'm happy. Not much to ask?

I think profit would be a better indication of "investability" than turnover.

I don't have a wealth of information but it does seem that it is a cash flow problem, I don't think we'll see too much activity but that is purely my opinion.
Its the long term future and funding of the new stadium that I have heard very encouraging news on.

I want the Champions League trophy in the Roots Hall cabinet within 5 years. Not too much to demand, is it.
