Your Journey Home

We did pretty well to get back to Chalkwell by 930 when we didn’t actually get onto the train until 720 from Wembley Central. We didn’t rush out the ground, we waited until the players came around to clap them off and then the nearest ladies toilets were shut, then bumped into a few pals outside and made the slow walk to the station. Got lucky with the connections. Thought both sets of fans were superb, no silliness at any point and everyone very civil which was a welcome surprise! It was never gunna be a quick journey and was still pretty shell shocked by us managing to **** it all up in the last 10 mins.
Just like watching ShrimperZone F.C

Traveled back to Bratislava yesterday. However my flight to Vienna left STN late. This put my bus to Bratislava in jeopardy. We landed in the middle of an electric storm. This meant that the ground staff couldn't bring the steps to disembark, the bus drivers could drive on the apron and the baggage handles couldn't offload the luggage. We had to wait 1 hour on the plane, during which we missed not just our initial bus but the second one. We eventually took a bus an hour and 10 minutes later than expected and arrived in Bratislava just before midnight.

Despite the arduous journey that my son and I had after the disappointment of Sunday nothing could dampen my pride after seeing my son walk out with Gus Scott-Morris onto the Wembley pitch on Sunday and the excitement that he experienced in doing so.

Back to the Just Park drive parking spot, bit slow getting out of area to M4. Half hour drop at Reading Services, where we chatted with some Bristol based shrimpers and a few Oldham fans. Then the long drive back to Cornwall just after midnight
That was probably my daughter and her boyfriend, as they stopped at Reading Services on their way back to Bristol

Traveled back to Scotland by train on Monday but very sadly just outside Newcastle someone jumped in front of our train and was killed.
This has really brought me back to earth with a bump having had an amazing day catching up with my two sons at Wembley.
So sad that in desperation someone feels that it's the only solution - way out for them. Cannot stop thinking about the person, family and train driver.
So this morning I watched TV and saw our ministers talking about spending millions if not billions on defenses, I know I should not be political but it's a shame they dont consider spending the money on real people who genuinely need help in our country.
Sorry for sharing this but it's really affected me........
