Your first car!

My cars...

First was my Mk 2 Fiesta 'Poplar plus'... was a fantastic little runner, only cost £150 from salvage yard... all it needed was a new lock and stearling wheel, did me for my first year or so..

Secod was my Citoen AX (n reg).. cost me £225 from salvage... all was wrong with it was it needed a new rear windscreen and rear bumper... another great little runner... was less powerful than the above car, but was so light it felt quite nippy, a real point and shoot mobile.

Third was my Astra (k reg)... my first family car, P/x and £250 with my previous car... never really liked it but did its job for a year.

4th/Current car is my Rover 400 (r reg)... again from the salvo, cost £250, came with medium/light NS damage... £150 later for new bonet, wing, bumper and headlight was as good as new, and very low milage too (for the year)... cats just gone tho, but have had it for 14 months now, and its the first thing to go wrong

My first car after I did a few little bits to it. But that was back in the day when I used to enjoy driving down to Southend on a saturday night (after football of course) and driving up and down the sea front. SAD!

Ford Anglia ...But mine had flared arches and was metalic blue, with big chrome wheels and lots of dials on the dashboard. Broadsided a Police car on a Bridge in Wales first trip out with it ....Not a promising start.

God looking back it did seem cool then, now I fell like a right jerk. Second was Mark 1 Lotus Cortina. That was a great car...Also had a Cortina 1600e as mentionted by somebody else on this post.I had the very trendy Aubergine colour. Escort Mexico and a Corsair and god knows how many others since.

Shouldn't it be Cricko Weasley as the car did belong to the Weasleys?

I saw some form of Ford convertable that looked like it came from 1920 yesterday. No idea what make it was though.

The old Ford 'locks'. I'm sure they only had a couple of variations. At one stage when I had a Cortina, my sister had a Fiesta and my parents a Granada we could all unlock each others cars. The Granada key also started my Cortina :D

Spot on, ORM. On a trip to Wales in Bessie, the MKII Cortina, found I'd left my bunch of keys in a shop 10 minutes walk down the road. Rather than make my wife (girlfriend then) and future ma-in-law stand about waiting while I went back for them, I asked a passing lady if she had a key... any key? She had a Yale front door key, and it did the job nicely, so they could sit in comfort.

:p

OMG Ricey. Thats negative rep! Sorry! But thats poor!

:hilarious:

As for me, i had a L reg grey-ish Ford Fiesta! Got me and the Yoots to many games in the mainly L2 days and it went on an excellent 1 year unbeaten league run which ended at Oxford a couple of years back. Had that for nearly 3 years ( i sold it to my missus's mate and the stupid bitch blew it up within a month! :( ) and then got my current car, a white S reg Renualt Clio which i have had for about 7 months but has a fair few miles under its belt!

My first car was a stunning metallic light green capri 1.6 LS on an A- reg (84)
I always wanted a 2.8 inj but obviosly being a skint 18 year old couldn't even afford a pint most the time, so the 1.6 done me proud down southend seafront for a couple years

i'm afraid this was the first car i owned and it was in this colour as well.
had two dirty great rust holes in the top of the wings so if you hit a puddle at speed you had water features on each wing.
bought it for 200 quid and a year later sold it for ...200 quid!!!!

Bought a Peugeot 406 Coupe 3.0 V6 as my first car, only 2 years old at the time as well (Y plate). Don't get to drive it as much lately due to having a company car (56 plate Ford Mondeo LX TDCI estate).

btw Ford keys (newer ones at least) will lock any other Ford car.

yes.. pics!!

i used to love my Fiesta.. kitted out the whole of the inside in Blue(im sure the original SZFC players remember it), had quite a good sound system too ... which ended up being transfered into my AX.

Infact every car that i've had has had the same CD player put in it, and the speakers replaced... i hate standard tinny sh*tty car speakers which distort with the slightest increase in volume
