Yet Another Rumour

Quite simply he's a different player to what he was, he's lost his edge, is fearful to shoot and I'd argue doesn't like being a small fish in a big pond.
Certainly I believe the latter is true & he'd stopped doing the simple things that made him so good in his early days well before he left us.

For the last 6 months he rarely went in the box, prefering to hang around outside & dribble round 20 players twice before unleashing from 25 yards out. The simpler goals of his early days didn't exist any more for him.

I said at the time & will always believe that we should've sold him in that January transfer window. We'd have got far more than we ended up with for him, hopefully used some of that money on a couple of decent players, certainly not panicked to spunk it up the wall on Foran & possibly not even got relegated. Who know where we would have been now.

And I thought you and I were friends!:stunned:

I'd rather imagine a Barney & Freddy up front - not likely, unless up at the Ricoh, if you believe the rumour mill.

However, Lee has'nt gone yet you know!

ps. like the smiley not sure what it's doing though, is it a Col Ewe supporter on a Saturday night?

Heard this rumour only this morning actually, would make sense i spose, as much as i wouldnt want him to go, if we need to pay our bills, selling barney is one way of making some quick cash.

Doesn't make sense to me. Firstly, if we send him on loan we don't get anything for him until a sale happens, so we will already be in administration by the time of the sale. Secondly, I doubt the amount of money we would get for him would cover the whole tax bill.

According to the Mirror today, Col Ewe and MK Dons are both sniffing around Lee Barnard...

I think that is the Mirror just putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 5, we did take a look at him sometime ago before he came to you guys, but he would not get a lookin now. We are much more likely to sign Lisbie, who we could probably buy for around 4-500K, which would show a small profit on what we got for him. Odejayi is enjoying his time with us, Gillespie is getting fitter with every game, and then we still have Clive Platt, Scott Vernon, Joel Thomas (Who is a lot better than his reputation suggests) and if he comes back from his loan Jamie Guy although I dont think he will. Ashley Vincent will also be fit very soon although he plays on the wing he also can double up as striker.

I cant see Barnard coming here to play in the reserves, MK Dons on the other hand could be a runner.......

Don't want Jamie Guy, the woman beater, coming back to the club :darkcloud:
